Ever since the diva was seen flaunting her huge diamond ring, speculations have been going on that she and her rumoured beau, Shikhar, went to the temple to seek blessings after their rumoured engagement.

Amid all these, a recent report by Bollywood Bubble claimed that this was actually not the reason. As per the report, Janhvi went to seek blessings at the Tirumala Temple for her late mother, Sridevi’s birth anniversary.
Yet another report by Pinkvilla revealed the truth behind Janhvi Kapoor's huge diamond ring, which left people speculating if the actress is already engaged to her rumoured beau, Shikhar. A source close to the actress told the news portal that the ring that Janhvi wore was actually her mom, Sridevi's.

The source dismissed all the ongoing rumours about Janhvi's engagement and revealed that each year, on August 13, the actress goes to the temple on her mom's birth anniversary. And this year she couldn't manage to go as she was shooting for her film, Ulajh in Bhopal. But after returning, she rushed to the temple to seek blessings. The source also mentioned that the actress chose to wear her mom's jewellery, along with the diamond ring, which was also Sridevi's. The source mentioned:
"Janhvi Kapoor often travels to Tirumala temple to honor her mother Sridevi on her birth anniversary. But this year, she couldn't go to the temple on August 13, since she was shooting for her film Ulajh in Bhopal. Post returning from the shoot, she made sure to visit the temple. During her visit, she wore her mother's jewelry including the ring. The rumors about her engagement are completely rubbish."
It was on August 13, 2023, when Janhvi Kapoor took to her IG handle and dropped a throwback picture of the late actress, Sridevi. In the picture, the late actress could be seen sitting on her mom's lap. The picture was indeed spectacular. Sharing the photo, Janhvi penned a long caption and wished her mom on her birthday. The long note of Janhvi's post could be read as:
"Happy birthday Mumma. I know this was one of your favourite places to be, on a film set with your mumma. And today as I’m on a set on your birthday I wish more than ever I had you with me like this, so we could convince everyone it was actually your 35th and not 60th birthday. And you could tell me if I’m pushing myself hard enough or not. And I could see in your eyes if I was making you proud. I know you’d be happy seeing us try, in your memory. Every day. I love you, you are the most special woman on this planet. And I know you’re with us still. You’re the reason we keep going.. hope you’re having lots of payasam and ice creams and caramel custards today."
