After completing her schooling, Disha took admission in Amity University, Lucknow, where she pursued engineering. However, in the second year, she left B.Tech in order to pursue her modelling aspirations.

Not everyone is aware of the fact that becoming an actress wasn’t Disha Patani’s first dream. When the actress was in school, she wanted to become an Air Force pilot. It is the reason why she took admission in an engineering program at Amity University to fulfil her dream of becoming a pilot.

When Disha Patani was studying at Amity University, Lucknow, she concentrated on becoming an Air Force pilot. However, once one of her friends told her about a modelling competition which would take the participants to Mumbai. Disha immediately filled out the form, not because she aspired to become a model but instead, because she was excited to see the city of dreams, Mumbai.

However, when Disha Patani participated in the contest, she grabbed everyone’s attention and even got an offer from an agency. Disha accepted it and started working as a model in Mumbai. As a result, she was unable to achieve her college’s minimal attendance. After much thought, Disha decided to leave engineering in the second year and went on with her aspiration to become a model.

Disha Patani’s acting journey: From Bareilly to Bollywood

From being an unknown girl in Bareily to becoming one of the highest-paid actresses in Bollywood, Disha Patani’s story of making a name for herself in showbiz is quite inspiring. Disha started her journey by making her acting debut in the Telugu film industry with the film, Loafer in 2015.

After this, Disha Patani appeared in the song, Befikra, alongside Tiger Shroff, which introduced her to the Hindi audience. Once in a candid conversation with Bazaar India, Disha Patani opened up about her acting journey. The actress explained how modelling set her on a journey of being financially independent and inspired her to make the most out of it. Soon she started enjoying the process and was into modelling and acting with all her heart and soul. However, she also added that becoming an Air Force pilot was once her life’s only dream. She said:

"Funnily, it was never my dream to become an actor. I wanted to be an Air Force pilot and was pursuing engineering. During college in Lucknow, one of my friends told me about a modelling contest that took all the winners to Mumbai. And who didn’t want to travel to Mumbai? I applied and ended up winning (in 2013). I decided to continue walking the ramp... It allowed me to be independent, earn for myself, and not rely on my family."
