The three got entangled in an imaginary feud when Selena Gomez posted a video highlighting her eyebrows. And then Kylie Jenner, one of Hailey’s good friends, shared a post regarding her eyebrows. The epicentre of the whole controversy is Selena Gomez’s TikTok video. The 31-year-old singer shared a TikTok video in February 2023. Selena was seen lip-syncing to the supermodel, Bella Hadid’s voice playing in the background, saying, ‘So my name, my name is Bella Hadid’ in the video. She captioned the selfie-style video as, ‘I wish I were as pretty as Bella Hadid’.
In the very next video, the singer, Selena Gomez was seen without any filters, and she revealed her bare face. She then mentioned that she accidentally got her brows laminated way too much. She said:
“Instead, this is me. I accidentally laminated my brows too much.”
The same day, the founder of Kylie Cosmetics, Kylie Jenner posted a picture of her eyebrows on her Instagram stories with the caption:
“this was an accident ?????”
The fact that Kylie Jenner and Selena Gomez both posted pictures of themselves with their eyebrows visible was interpreted as Jenner shading Gomez for some reason. And on top of that, Selena’s alleged rival, Hailey Baldwin Bieber, shared a screenshot on her Instagram story of her having a FaceTime conversation with Kylie Jenner. Fans were quick to notice that the close-up shots of their eyebrows in the screenshot seemed to be an indirect attack on Gomez.

And to add fuel to the fire, a famous TikTok creator, Nuha (devotedly. yours) shared her opinion on the whole drama where she explained the nitty gritty behind the fiasco. She said that she was ‘doubling down’ on people who were doubting her, and went on to say that Kylie’s post was actually about the Who Says singer, Selena Gomez.

The creator questioned why after Selena posted a video talking about her eyebrows, Kylie shared a story on her IG account with the caption just above her eyebrows. After this, the Kylie Cosmetics owner even uploaded a screenshot of her and Hailey’s Facetime. This made Nuha sure that both, Hailey and Kylie, were shading Selena Gomez. After this video of Nuha’s went viral, Kylie commented on the same:
“this is reaching. no shade towards selena ever and i didn’t see her eyebrow posts! u guys are making something out of nothing. this is silly.”
After Kylie Jenner cleared things from her side, even Selena Gomez replied to the make-up mogul’s comment. Selena said:
“Agreed @kyliejenner. It’s all unnecessary. I’m a fan of Kylie!”
The whole furore made Selena Gomez quit social media again for some time. She first took a hiatus from social media following her breakup with Justin Bieber in 2018. Selena mentioned in a TikTok live that she is too old for these silly things. She said:
“I’m gonna be taking a second from social media cause this is a little silly and I’m 30. I’m too old for this.”
