Arpita Khan Prayed For The First Time That Husband, Aayush Sharma Outshines Salman Khan In 'Antim'

Bollywood actor, Aayush Sharma had married superstar, Salman Khan's sister, Arpita Khan in 2014. He had made his acting debut with the film, Loveyatri in the year 2018. Since then, he has been trolled a lot and people had passed judgements like he had bagged his debut film due to his brother-in-law. From his first film to his recent film, Antim: The Final Truth, we have seen a massive transformation in Aayush’s personality and acting skills.

No matter what people said, it was Aayush's wife, Arpita Khan Sharma, who had never let this negativity affect her. In fact, she had stood like a rock-solid pillar beside him. In fact, when Aayush was paired opposite her brother, Salman Khan in Antim: The Final Truth, it was very common for people to compare the two of them. However, it was Arpita, who wanted her husband's performance to outshine her bhaijaan, Salman Khan.

In an interview with the Indian Express, Aayush Sharma spilt the beans on how his wife, Arpita Khan reacted after watching Antim: The Final Truth. Talking about her emotional state of mind, the actor said:

''My wife was very emotional, when she saw the film. When I was starting the film, she called me and said, ‘I am 32, and all my life, I’ve always prayed for my brother that he outshines everyone in his films. But this is the first time that I am praying that you outshine him. She said, ‘I am fighting the biggest battle, because my two most favourite people are going to be in the same frame, and I cannot watch them fight.''

Going further in the interview, Aayush also shared how his wife, Arpita Khan encouraged him to give his best as he might not get an opportunity to prove himself against Salman Khan. Talking about the advice that Arpita gave him, the actor said:

''She also told me, ‘This is an opportunity. He is one of the biggest superstars in the country, and this platform you can never get again. If this time around, just know that it’s a do-or-die opportunity. If you mess this up, there’s no coming back. You will never be redeemed.'”

When asked if Aayush Sharma had felt intimidated to work opposite his brother-in-law, Salman Khan, the former answered in the affirmative. Revealing how he brought some changes within himself to work with Salman, Aayush said:

“Yes, because he’s also my family member. The thing is an actor, you also love him as a star. I’m a fan myself. Here I am, as a fan, going loggerheads with him. I know he has superstardom. So I had to change the way I speak, put on this kind of muscle. On the other hand, despite doing all this, when he is on the sets, nobody sees anything else. The thought that runs through my head at the time is I don’t know if I’ll be able to hold my own.”

However, when Aayush was asked about getting guidance from Salman Khan, he shed some light on his brother-in-law's belief and the advice he got from him. In his words:

“I brought it to his notice, and asked him if he could help me. He said, ‘Help yourself.’ Early in my life he told me, ‘I can only give you the chance of coming on camera. What you do, that is between you and the audience’. That’s his firm belief. He would always tell me, I would give you the weapons to fight a war. I cannot fight the war for you. When I said that it was a difficult character, he just told me one thing, ‘Listen, I don’t want another Salman on screen.''
