Zeenat Aman shared two photos from her albums, featuring her mother, Scinda Heinz. Alongwith it, the doting daughter penned long notes revealing a few anecdotes from the duo's relationship.
Yesteryear actress, Zeenat Aman is all set to make her comeback in Bollywood with the film, Bun Tikki, co-starring Shabana Azmi. Ahead of that, she has been making the headlines for quite some time now with her social media posts. Recently, she was entangled in a controversy when she made a statement about marriages and live-in relationships. Now, she dropped a lovely post for her late mother and revealed many unknown anecdotes from their relationship.
Taking to her IG handle, Zeenat Aman posted two photos of her mother, Scinda Heinz. In one of the pictures, Scinda was seen posing with Zeenat's father, Amanullah Khan, while the other one featured her German stepfather, Heinz. Along with it, she penned a long note talking about her love for her mother. Elaborating more about it, she mentioned how Scinda taught herself business when she was in her 50s and then could successfully become a businesswoman. However, when Zeenat began her acting journey, her mother left behind her career and started working as the former's manager. Talking more about it, Zeenat said:
"There has been no more extraordinary woman in the world than my Ma. She was my safe harbour. She was a woman ahead of the curve. She was gracious, beautiful and whip smart. After she and my father separated in the 50s, she taught herself business and became a working woman. She sent me to the best of boarding schools and never missed a visit, whence she would come laden with parcels of tuck. When I made up my mind to pursue a career in acting, she gave up her own work to be my manager. She negotiated my contracts, invested my earnings, packed my tiffins, ran my lines, inspired my style, and bolstered my confidence to the nth degree. All this while maintaining her own exciting social life within the expat community in Mumbai."

In the same conversation, Zeenat explained how her mother believed no man was suitable for Zeenat. Thus, when she started dating men, Scinda's heart was broken. Reportedly, Zeenat dated Sanjay Khan and after a physical turmoil, they broke up. Afterwards, she got married to Mazhar Khan, but her marriage was again full of toxicity and domestic violence. However, Zeenat and Mazhar were blessed with two sons, Azaan Khan and Zahaan Khan. Thus, the actress mentioned that it was only the birth of her sons that she could mend her mom's heart. Further, talking about her mother's demise, Zeenat penned:
"Mummy never thought any man was worthy of me ( she was onto something there), and it was the only matter that we ever locked horns on. Even then, if I were ever low, I would crawl into her bed in our apartment off Nepean Sea Road, lay by her side and hold her hand. No words would be spoken, but my turmoil would settle and I would feel secure. It's true that I broke her heart a little when I eloped, but it mended with the birth of my first son, who shares a birthday with her. When ma died in 1995, I felt as though a veil of protection was snatched off my shoulders. These pictures are all the more precious to me now that I can only return to her safe harbour in my memories."
On April 10, 2024, Zeenat had revealed her take on live-in relationships in an Instagram post. She recommended people to live together before getting married, and added that this is the same advice she has always given to both of her sons, both of whom have had, or are in, a live-in relationship. However, she futher added:
"I'm aware that Indian society is a little uptight about "living in sin" but then again, society is uptight about so many things! Log kya kahenge?"

Soon, it created much controversy in the industry. While Mumtaz and Mukesh Khanna severely reacted to the same, Soni Razdan supported Zeenat's statement. Mumtaz stated in an interview that Zeenat should think twice before making any comment on social media. Moreover, while mentioning that these statements hurt the nation's sentiments, Mumtaz mentioned how Zeenat's marriage with Mazhar Khan was turbulent even after they knew one another for years. In a similar tone, Mukesh pointed out that live-in relationships are not practised in Indian culture. However, criticising him, Soni mocked Mukesh and said she could not even imagine what would happen if the couple living together did not get along with each other in the future.
