The duo, who are yet to tie the knot, sparked engagement rumours after Zawe was spotted wearing a diamond ring at the 2022 BAFTA Awards. Later, in June of the same year, the Loki actor confirmed that they were indeed engaged, in an interview. Following this, Tom and Zawe welcomed their first child a few months later, in October 2022.

Now, right before the new year, in a recent interview with GQ, Tom announced that he and Zawe Ashton have already welcomed their little bundle of joy. Many might not be aware of this, but Tom Hiddleston and Zawe Ashton's first meeting was not on a movie set but rather during a charity gala celebrating the work of renowned playwright, Harold Pinter. It was during this very gala, held on October 10, 2018, that both actors “had done a reading together of the central scene,” which ultimately led them to co-star in the revival of Harold Pinter's famous play, Betrayal.
For this revival, the duo had to play the role of a married couple named 'Robert' and 'Emma' opposite actor, Charlie Cox's 'Jerry'. The play ran from March to June 2019 at the West End's Harold Pinter theatre in London. According to reports, after their successful run here, all three of them also had to move to New York City when the production was transferred to Broadway. Tom and Zawe once again costarred for 3 months at the Bernard B. Jacobs Theatre.
It was in April 2019 that Tom Hiddleston went to support his then-costar, Zawe Ashton, at the launch party of her first book, Character Breakdown. The launch party was reportedly held at Wild By Tart in London. At the time, The Daily Mail reported that Tom looked immensely Happy and “in high spirits” while posing for photos with Zawe.
On August 27, 2019, Tom and Zawe were spotted attending the US Open together in Queens, New York. Here, they were watching a women's singles match between players, Johanna Konta and Karolina Pliskova, which was a part of the annual tennis tournament. This is when the Betrayal costars, after sharing the stage for months, finally sparked dating rumours.
While Tom is known for being an ultra-private person, in a rare showing of PDA, while he was vacationing with Zawe in Ibiza, Spin. In the September 2021 photos, the rumoured couple could be seen kissing as they took a dip in the water.
Tom and Zawe flamed their romance rumours even further when they attended their first public event as a couple. After almost two years of dating and staying as private as possible, the duo turned heads when they posed together at the 2021 Tony Awards on September 26, 2021. Thankfully, Tom did not let fans wonder about their relationship status for too long as he publicly confirmed their engagement in an interview with The Los Angeles Times. While he did not go into too much detail about their engagement, he did state that he was feeling “very happy” because of it.
Zawe Ashton confirmed her pregnancy during the NYC screening of her film, Mr. Malcom's List, on June 29, 2022. While walking the red carpet, she proudly showed off her growing baby bump. A couple of months later, in October of the same year, US Weekly first reported that they had already welcomed their first child together. At the time, a source close to the couple revealed:
“Tom and Zawe are loving being new parents and are filled with joy.”
Now, fast forward two years later, and Tom Hiddleston and Zawe Ashton's relationship still seems to be going strong. This is because they are growing their family of three into that of four with the arrival of their second child, “just the other day.”
