Currently, K-pop fans are dealing with a major shock with news that no one saw coming. If you haven't caught up with the news yet, Lee Heeseung, one of the members of the prominent 4th-gen K-pop group, ENHYPEN, confirmed that he is leaving the group after nearly 6 years together. The news came in the form of a letter that Heeseung wrote himself and shared on Weverse, as well as an official statement released by BELIFT LAB. Not only were netizens left shocked and emotional by Heeseung's sudden departure, but now, 82MAJOR's Yechan's reaction to the same is also going viral.
Heeseung revealed that he was leaving his group, ENHYPEN, today, on March 10, 2026. This means that ENHYPEN will have to continue forward as a six-member group with Sunghoon, Jungwon, Sunoo, Jay, Jake, and Ni-ki. For those unaware, the group debuted 6 years ago, in 2020, through the popular survival show, I-LAND. Over the years, the group had successfully built a large fandom called ENGENEs, comprising both national and international fans. In fact, ENHYPEN's most recent comeback was just a few months ago, in January 2026, when they released their 7th mini album, THE SIN: VANISH. This is why the fact that Heeseung is leaving the group all of a sudden comes as such a huge shock to not only fans but also fellow idols.
According to reports and clips circulating online, 82MAJOR'S Yechan found out that Heeseung was leaving to pursue a solo career as soon as he started his Weverse live. No sooner did he read the announcement than he was left in complete and utter shock. In the now-viral clip of his reaction, Yechan can be seen freezing for a couple of seconds, his mouth wide open, after he looked up the announcement when fans in the comment section made him aware of Heeseung's decision. In utter disbelief, Yechan can be heard saying, “What? What! What do you mean?” He freezes up once again while looking at the camera before asking, “Why did he leave? He was my favourite.”
To mention, Yechan was left so shocked that he had to get up from his chair on which he was sitting and doing his live, and sat back down only after he took a few seconds to compose himself. After sitting, he explains to viewers that he reacted that way because he saw the “crazy” news that Heeseung left ENHYPEN. Eventually, he says, “I got your back,” a clear sign that he will continue to support his bias moving forward.
After Yechan reacted so strongly to the news that Heeseung was leaving ENHYPEN to pursue a solo career during his Weverse live, with thousands of viewers watching, it did not take long for clips of Yechan's reactions to spread online. One fan shared the clip and wrote, “Do you know how bad it is when we got other fandoms and even idols gobsmacked over Heeseung??? Imagine how we feel. This is so twisted.”
An ENGENE directing their anger towards ENHYPEN's company wrote, “Yk this sh*t is bad when even other idols are shocked, @BELIFTLAB f*k you.” Another netizen shared and captioned Yechan's reaction, “Dude, the voice crack at ‘He was my favourite!’ Everyone's really suffering.” A third user called Yechan, just like the members of the ENHYPEN fandom, wrote, “he's just like us, but live reaction is crazy,” followed by a crying emoji.
