The actor grabbed widespread attention when he played the role of a 60-year-old when he was just 28 in the TV series, Shanti. Yatin was also seen in the iconic role of 'Anand Bhai' in the movie, Munna Bhai M.B.B.S. Apart from that, he was seen in several other television projects and movies.
Talking about his personal life, Yatin was engaged, seemingly in his teens, as he said he had met his now ex-wife, Iravati Harshe, while they were at college and were 17. Yatin recently sat for an interview with Siddharth Kannan and spilt details about his personal life and also about his broken marriage, which took an emotional toll on him, a heavy kind.
Speaking of his personal life, Yatin Karyekar met Iravati when they were at college, and she was his junior. Yatin was the one to train Iravati in a play, and he felt that she was attracted to him. Eventually, she confessed; however, Yatin was sceptical because he already had a broken engagement.
However, the duo fell in love, and they also lived together, which was unconventional in the 1990s. In 1996, Iravati and Yatin got married; however, destiny had some other plans. The couple started facing several issues in their marital life.
Yatin or Iravati never revealed the reason for their divorce; however, the actor mentioned that he became extremely busy with his career and they kind of drifted apart. It was in 2001 that Iravati and Yatin parted ways.
In the recent interview, Yatin revealed that Iravati was also in a bad place, as she could neither leave him nor be with him, leaving her in a stuck position, and it led him to do something that made her decide to leave him. The interviewer asked him whether he got married again after his painful divorce from Iravati. To this, the actor added that he never did.
When asked about the reason, in a light-hearted tone, Yatin shared an astrological reason. He said that when his engagement was broken, his mom consulted an astrologer, and the same happened before he married Iravati and after he got divorced from her. Yatin consulted a total of 10 astrologers, and seven out of them said that there were some issues with his marital aspect in his chart. He also added that the same pattern and time frame repeated both during his first broken engagement and divorce with Iravati.
Siddharth further asked whether Yatin had any relationship, which he agreed, and mentioned that there had been several ones with whom he had relationship after his divorce from Iravati, however, he didn't want to get married. The actor went on to reveal that his exes are still his friends, while adding that some of them wanted to marry him as well, and consulted their astrologers, who also revealed that there were some issues with his marital chart.
