Riddhi Divyesh Thakkar was a popular traveller and a long-distance motorcycle rider from Mumbai. At the same time, she was known among the city's biking clubs for taking long interstate journeys.
Likewise, Riddhi's trip to Chhattisgarh was also reportedly a part of a planned motorcycle tour. She intended to explore the Bastar region, known for its natural beauty and cultural heritage.
According to reports, Riddhi was going with a group of more than 20 riders who travelled from Mumbai. They gathered with other riders at Raipur before heading towards Bastar. The 24-year-old was among the growing number of women riders who are travelling long distances on their bikes.
Riddhi even shared on her social media about remote places, highways and fellow motorcyclists. One of her video series also revolved around common bike-related problems and how to solve them.

According to initial reports, most of the riding group had already gone ahead on the highway. However, Riddhi and a few others travelling with her were slightly behind them. At that time, a speeding trailer truck allegedly rammed into her Bajaj Avenger motorcycle from behind.
Within a few minutes, the impact left her critically injured. So, her fellow riders immediately called the emergency services through the 112 helpline. They eventually rushed Riddhi to the Charama Community Health Centre in neighbouring Kanker district for treatment.
