Yakir Levi was an Israeli-American entrepreneur, property restoration expert and reality TV star. He had appeared on the Israeli Channel 13 docuseries, The Americans. For those unaware, the show was based on Israelis living in the United States. It followed them as they pursued their careers while staying connected to their homeland.
In fact, Yakir's story stood out due to his remarkable success. He was born in Ramla, Israel, and often spoke about coming to the US with just USD 300 in his pocket. But eventually, he settled in LA and made a successful property restoration company. They specialised in repairing homes damaged by fires, floods and other disasters.
Soon, his company, 770 Water Damage and Restoration, turned into a thriving business. It even brought him fame within both the business and entertainment worlds. Levi was known to help others, and he mainly hired people who were trying to rebuild their lives and supported charitable causes.
After his death, some friends and colleagues recalled him as someone who believed in giving back to his community. At the same time, he encouraged others to chase their dreams.
Overall, his stint on The Americans introduced him to a wider audience. The show's viewers also had a strong interest in witnessing Yakir's journey from an immigrant with limited resources to a self-made businessman.
Outside the TV and business world, Yakir was a dedicated family man. He tied the knot to his wife, Meital Levi, and they welcomed three children together.
According to reports, the family was planning to move permanently to Israel when Yakir died. In fact, before travelling to Florida, Yakir had also visited Israel to make adequate preparations for his land schooling.
On the other hand, Yakir had a difficult and traumatic childhood. His father was killed in the first Lebanon War when he was a toddler. So, the 45-year-old was raised by his mother, who did multiple jobs to support their family.
After his death, his family has shared some emotional tributes recalling him as a loving husband, father, brother and son. One woman who claimed she was Yakir's sister wrote on Facebook that she was struggling to process the loss.
She described it as a 'crazy nightmare". At the same time, family members have also rejected the speculation around his death. They mentioned that they want investigators to examine every possible detail before reaching any conclusions.
Police and emergency crews responded to the Acqualina Resort and Residences in Sunny Isles Beach shortly after 9:30 p.m. on July 20, 2026, after receiving reports that Levi had fallen from the building. But he was pronounced dead.
Investigators said that Levi was alone at the time of the incident. The Miami-Dade Medical officials are now working with the law enforcement officials to find the official cause and manner of his death. In fact, the authorities have stated that the investigation is ongoing.
On the other hand, Yakir's family has confirmed his death and requested privacy during this difficult time. They are now working on returning his remains to Israel, where he is expected to be buried.
