A new name on the list has been the President's executive assistant, Natalie Harp. She has again made headlines after her deeply personal letters to the President surfaced in the media. It has also started discussions about her relationship with the President. Meanwhile, her estranged brother, Preston Harp, has shared his take on the matter.
Preston Harp is Natalie Harp's estranged brother. The siblings have reportedly been estranged for some years now. However, after Natalie's letters made headlines in the political circles, her estranged brother shared his views on them. Preston appeared on CNN's Erin Burnett OutFront to address the same.
During his conversation, Preston explained that he thinks his sister's admiration for Donald Trump is not something personal. He also denied any possible romantic attraction between them. Instead, he explained that Natalie's admiration for Trump is linked to the values they were taught while growing up.
At the same time, Preston mentioned that their mother strongly believes in American exceptionalism. She also taught them that the United States has a unique leadership role to play in the world. So, he believes that Natalie never moved away from those beliefs. Instead, she thinks that President Trump represents their family's beliefs. Therefore, he believes all these reasons are the root cause of her deep admiration for the President.
During the interview, Preston said that Natalie is 'Trump's "biggest fan." He also disagreed with the notion that Trump directly saved his sister's life through the Right to Try Act. For those unaware, it is a law that increases access to experimental medical treatment for terminally ill patients.
Earlier, Natalie had often credited President Trump for helping her survive bone cancer through the law. In fact, she became popular across the country when she shared the story in 2019. However, Preston argued that the law has only increased access to certain treatments. He does not believe that the President must be credited for saving her life since he personally didn't do it.
Preston also shared his views on reports that Natalie once rode in the trunk of an SUV to stay close to Trump while traveling. He admitted that it was a "sad" incident and such behavior reflects an unhealthy level of obsession. Still, he confirmed that he deeply cares about his sister. In his words:
"It's actually kind of sad, that's obsession. That's an unhealthy obsession with someone if you're going to jump into the trunk of their car."
For those unaware, Natalie has come into focus after reportedly writing letters to the President. In those letters, she expressed her intense admiration and loyalty for him. Some of her phrases in the letter that have stirred controversy, are "You are all that matters to me" and "I want to bring you joy." Natalie also allegedly called Trump her "protector".
Preston also said it is not new for his sister to write letters to authoritative figures in the U.S. He shared that she previously wrote to former President George W. Bush during the Iraq War. However, she did not get any reply.
Natalie Harp is the special assistant and executive aide to President Donald Trump. In fact, with time, she has become one of the most popular members of his inner circle. She is also seen at events, meetings, and trips with the President's team.
According to insiders, she is also known as Trump's "human printer," as she carries portable printer equipment with her. Natalie uses it to give printed articles, social media posts, and briefing materials to the President. She is also considered to have a significant influence on the information given to him.
