A few months before the London Diamond League, Josh Kerr had a candid conversation, during which he expressed his wish to break the record in front of nearly 60,000 fans. After winning the race, he was extremely grateful. In an interview with BBC Sport, he said:
"It's very overwhelming with the amount of hype. It's silly to call your shot that early, obviously a lot of things can go wrong. But I'm surrounded by amazing people, and I was able to just stay consistent, put the work in."
As per a report by The Sun, Josh Kerr's partner, Larimar Rodriguez is a doctor and a former track and field athlete, who is based in the United States. Josh and Larimar first met at the University of New Mexico. Reportedly, Josh had moved from Scotland to continue his education and pursue his dream of being a professional runner.
It is also worth mentioning that apart from her medical career, Larimar Rodriguez also has a strong background in sports. During her college years, she often participated in track and field events. Later, she even worked as an assistant coach for the same. However, she eventually chose her medical career.
In 2018, Larimar was accepted into medical school in 2018, and five years later, in 2023, she started working as a resident doctor at the University of Miami. It is worth noting that Josh Kerr celebrated both these achievements on his social media and proudly flaunted him.

Months ago, Josh Kerr spoke about how his family and the love of his life, Larimar helped them. He also explained that he gives his best in every single race only for the people he loves. In a conversation with BBC Sport, he stated:
"This is a lot for our family and they’ve put a lot of time, effort and money in to me. I just couldn’t be prouder to represent the Kerr family name today. I gave it everything for them, myself and my fiancee. This is the life I want to lead for them. They’ve given me so much and it was nice to pay that back a little bit today."
