Add BollywoodShaadis on GoogleTyler Boebert, the eldest son of US Representative Lauren Boebert and Jayson Boebert, is currently in hot water. The 21-year-old has faced explosive charges of child sexual exploitation and was detained on August 9, 2026. Notably, this arrest is the latest in a series of criminal charges and legal troubles Tyler has faced since 2022.
Recently, Tyler was detained in Garfield County, Colorado, for five felony counts and reportedly released on the same day in lieu of a USD 10,000 surety bond. The charges against him stem from an alleged 43-second video recorded on January 1, 2024, involving his then-17-year-old girlfriend. Tyler's recent controversy brought the spotlight on his father, Jayson Boebert, who was also once arrested. Here's everything we know about him.
Jayson Boebert is widely known as the former husband of US Representative Lauren Boebert. He is also the father of her children, including their eldest son, Tyler Boebert, who is currently hogging the spotlight. Jayson has also frequently made headlines due to his personal life, career-related controversies, and legal issues. Regarding Jayson's profession, he worked in Colorado's oil and gas industry when he was married to Lauren.
Jayson's current endeavours are not widely reported as he maintains a private life. He even largely remained out of the spotlight when Lauren Boebert rose in ranks in Congress. He, however, still appeared at campaign events and public gatherings to support his then-wife. The former couple met when Lauren was 16 and Jayson was 22. Not much about their relationship timeline is known except that they tied the knot in 2005.
Lauren and Jayson remained married for about two decades, and during that time became parents to four sons, namely Tyler, Brody, Kayden, and Roman Boebert. After 18 years of marriage, Lauren Boebert filed for a divorce in May 2023, citing irreconcilable differences. The split was finalized in October 2023. Initially, reports on the former couple focused on his profiling and their rare joint public appearances.
However, later, Jayson Boebert grabbed the headlines because of several criminal cases and charges filed against him. From an arrest due to public indecency charges to a restaurant altercation, Jayson got involved in several controversies.
In January 2024, Jayson Boebert was arrested by Colorado authorities due to two separate controversies occurring within a week. On January 6, 2024, Jayson and Lauren Boebert got embroiled in a heated altercation at a restaurant in Silt, Colorado. He called emergency services to claim that he was the victim. Once the police arrived, he allegedly grew unruly and had to be forcibly removed by the law enforcement.
Jayson was initially charged with disorderly conduct, third-degree trespass, and obstruction of a peace officer. After three days, on January 9, 2024, Jayson's 18-year-old son called authorities to report that he was assaulted by his father in their home. Jayson was then arrested on charges of third-degree assault, harassment, and prohibited use of weapons, as he reportedly possessed a firearm while he was intoxicated.
Jayson was also at the centre of another controversy before his marriage to Lauren Boebert. He was arrested at a bowling alley for exposing himself to two young women, one of whom was reportedly a teenage Lauren. He was charged with public indecency and he pleaded guilty to the same. Following that, Jayson Boebert was sentenced to four days in jail and two years of probation.
