US politician, Kristi Noem is currently under intense online scrutiny following bombshell allegations made against her. On March 6, 2026, she was removed from her position as the Secretary of Homeland Security by President Donald Trump, following a tenure marked by intense controversy, with the latest one being infidelity allegations. The 54-year-old has reportedly been replaced by Senator Markwayne Mullin of Oklahoma and will assume the role of Special Envoy for the "Shield of the Americas." Kristi has been accused of being involved in an illicit relationship with her top aide, Corey Lewandowski. Here's everything we know about him.
Corey Lewandowski is a Republican political operative, strategist, and lobbyist who has been a prominent and often controversial figure in Donald Trump's political inner circle since 2015. The 52-year-old served as Donald Trump's first campaign manager during the 2016 presidential run. He is credited with the creation of the 'Let Trump Be Trump' philosophy that defined the campaign's early style. During the 2024 campaign, Corey returned to the Trump orbit as a senior advisor for the 2024 presidential campaign.
Following his 2016 departure, he worked as a political commentator for CNN, Fox News, and One America News Network (OANN), and according to The New York Times, he used the cable news platform to defend Trump. Corey also co-founded several lobbying and advisory firms, including Avenue Strategies and Lewandowski Strategic Advisors. Many journalists criticised the hiring of Corey because he had previously been accused of bullying and blacklisting reporters while running the Trump campaign. Recently, infidelity allegations have been added to his list of controversies.
During a House Judiciary Committee hearing on March 4, 2026, Representative Sydney Kamlager-Dove directly asked Kristi Noem if she had "s**ual relations" with her top aide, Corey Lewandowski. The latter did not issue a flat denial; instead, called the question "tabloid garbage" and "offensive". Reports indicate this roundabout answer was the deciding factor in President Trump's decision to fire her the following day; however, no official statement on the matter has been issued by the US President. Regarding Corey Lewandowski, she stated:
"I am shocked that we're going down and peddling tabloid garbage in this committee today...I would tell you is that he [Corey] is a special government employee who works for the White House. There are thousands of them in the federal government."
Sydney Kamlager-Dove, however, was not satisfied with Kristi's answer and asked her to say a definite "no" if she wasn't involved in an affair with Corey. Her husband, Bryon Noem, was present in the audience during this questioning, drawing significant media attention to the controversy. Calling the question ridiculous and "insane", Kristi accused Sydney of having a liberal leftist agenda. According to Kristi, Sydney was trying to prove that conservative women were either stupid or sl*ts. Her exact words were:
"I think the ridiculousness of this and the tabloids that you are quoting and referencing are insane...This is what you [liberal lefts] do. You say conservative women are stupid or sl*ts. I am neither."
As of early March 2026, Corey Lewandowski's political future is reportedly uncertain following the major shakeup at the Department of Homeland Security (DHS).
