Ram Kapoor has been ruling the television space since decades. One of the most loved television actor, Ram’s versatility and his charming personality made him one of the most bankable actors in the industry. He made his television debut in 1997 with the show, Nyaay, and was later seen in the show, Ghar Ek Mandir in 2000.

However, his role as ‘Jai Walia’ in the show, Kasamh Se, and ‘Ram Kapoor’ in the popular show, Bade Ache Lagte Hain, made him a huge sensation. Talking about his personal life, Ram is married to actress, Gautami Gadgil, and the couple is proud parents to two kids, Sia and Aks. Ram is currently leading the headlines after his thoughts on infidelity in a marriage, sparking criticism online. This is not the first time that Ram has been in the centre of a controversy. He previously had a tiff with Ekta Kapoor too.

Ram Kapoor blamed Ekta Kapoor for his controversial kissing scene with Sakshi Tanwar

Ram Kapoor was loved for his role in the show, Bade Ache Lagte Hain, which was produced by Ekta Kapoor. The show featured him and actress, Sakshi Tanwar in the lead roles. However, the historic show featured an intimate scene between Ram and Sakshi, in which both the leads were supposed to indulge in a lip lock.

It was the first kiss of television and Sakshi wasn’t too comfortable with the same. The scene not just went on with the lowest TRP but Ekta received a huge backlash over it. Years later, Ram Kapoor took a sly dig at Ekta Kapoor’s decision to air his sensational kissing scene and also revealed how he warned her against it.

Ram went on to claim that while Sakshi was initially uncomfortable, he had warned Ekta Kapoor that the scene might backfire, as this had never happened on Indian television, as those were the days when the entire family would watch a serial together. He said:

“Ekta’s the one who wrote the scene, wanted us to do the scene. I told Ekta, ‘Are you sure you want to do this? Television mein kabhi hua nahi. We were the first kiss of television, which is a big thing."

Ekta Kapoor snubbed Ram Kapoor indirectly calling him ‘unprofessional’

Ram further stated that the episode has the lowest rating, and Ekta had to deal with it as she received a lot of backlashes for her decision. Ram’s revelation left Ekta upset and indirectly called out the actor for his distasteful remarks. Without taking anyone’s name, Ekta Kapoor took to her IG stories and called him ‘unprofessional’. “Unprofessional actors giving interviews about my shows should shut up. False information and skewed stories, can only last till I talk. But there is dignity in silence." 

In an interview with NDTV, Ram Kapoor addressed the fallout with Ekta Kapoor and her remark on him. He stated that she can say whatever she wants to, but he will not say a word. Ram added that at the end of the day, she gave him some remarkable 'characters'. He was quoted as saying:

"She can say whatever she wants to, but I will not say a word. Because at the end of the day, she gave me what no one gave me."
