For those who missed the romantic film, it follows two different people, 'Ray' (played by Kartik Aaryan) and 'Rumi' (played by Ananya Panday). 'Ray's' single mother, 'Pinky' (played by Neena Gupta) is a wedding planner. Soon after the film begins, 'Ray' and 'Rumi' head towards Croatia for a yacht party. The two first meet at the airport bookstore and are irritated by each other's presence.
After reaching Croatia, they get to know that they have gone for the same reason. However, things worsen when they are forced to share a room. Hesitantly they agree. The connection that started with awkwardness and irritation, soon turns into friendship. In 10 days, the two fall in love with each other. However, things take a different turn when 'Rumi' gets a call that her father's health (played by Jackie Shroff) has worsened.
Hearing this, 'Rumi' breaks off things with 'Ray' and heads to her home in Agra. 'Ray' is heartbroken with this and is unable to understand the reason behind it. As the film progresses, 'Ray' fails at moving on from 'Rumi' and decides to go to Agra and win her and her father. In Agra, 'Rumi's' sister is getting married and 'Ray' enters as the wedding planner. Eventually, he tries to bond with 'Rumi' and her father.
Later, 'Ray' realises that 'Rumi' does not want to get married to anyone because she can't leave her father alone after marriage. 'Ray' still continues to try his best to convince 'Rumi'; however she doesn't. Later, at a pre-wedding party of 'Rumi's' sister, 'Ray's' mother gets drunk and creates a scene at 'Rumi's' house, which leads to the breakup of 'Rumi' and 'Ray'. After this, 'Ray' and 'Pinky' head back to their home in the U.S.
After a major argument, both 'Ray' and 'Rumi' try to move up but fail miserably. However, they do not reconcile with each other. Meanwhile, a 'Rumi's' father's friend's son tries to hit on her, but she keeps on ignoring it. Months later, 'Rumi' is at the launch of her new book, when 'Ray' enters with her mother. At the launch, he proposes 'Rumi' for marriage. When 'Rumi' refuses because of her father, 'Ray' and 'Pinky' react maturely and reveal that if she can't leave Agra then 'Ray' would live with her and her father after their marriage. The film ends with 'Rumi' accepting 'Ray's' proposal.
