Travis Kelce, recently explained that his fiancee, Taylor Swift motivated him to continue his NFL career with Kansas City Chiefs, amid retirement rumours.
Travis Kelce is one of the most popular NFL players. For those who do not know, he is the tight end for the Kansas City Chiefs. However, a few months ago, the star made headlines, when reports claimed that he was planning to retire. However, Travis Kelce has decided to return for the 14th season. Ever since he made his decision, a few reports shared that his ladylove, Taylor Swift, was the reason behind it. Well, now Travis opened up about the same.
Recently, Travis Kelce appeared on the The Pat McAfee Show, during which he opened up about his fiancee, Taylor Swift. He revealed that the global star is very dedicated towards what she does. The NFL star stated that he and the singer share the same love for things. Travis stated that they individually were passionate about their dreams for a long time. Travis Kelce was quoted as saying:
"We share the same love for what we do, and fortunately we've had this desire since we were kids in our selective professions. It's amazing to see her keep going to the table, keep finding new things to write about, keep finding new melodies and, on top of that, still seeing her have that love and joy in what she does."
Further, Travis Kelce revealed that it was Taylor Swift’s dedication that motivated him to continue playing. He explained that seeing Taylor Swift, what she loves made him realise that he still has a few ideas in the back of his mind and still has the juice to play the game. In his words:
"Of course that's motivating. That's motivating for anybody to see, let alone my fiancée, knowing that I'm going through something where I'm trying to figure out exactly what the future holds for me. Something like that definitely motivates me to say, 'You know what, I'm not done, either.' I've still got some ideas in the back of my mind and still got some juice left to play this game."
For those who do not know, months ago a few reports claimed that Travis Kelce was planning to retire from the sport. It is worth mentioning that this decision came after the poor performance by the Chiefs last year. During the same conversation, he shared that despite the initial disappointment, he chose to stay with the team because he is looking forward to playing with the coach, Andy Reid. Travis Kelce shared:
"It was pretty short and brief and the Chiefs knew where I was the entire time on it. You always need to take a step back, breathe and let the emotions of the season settle down and see where the body is. Man, I'm still in love with this game. I still love going to work, putting on the pads, grinding it out and just playing the game. My best opportunity was playing for the Chiefs yet again and running this thing back with Pat Mahomes and Coach Reid and got my guy Eric Bieniemy back."
Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift are one of the most talked-about couples. For the unversed, the duo got engaged in August 2025, in an intimate and yet special setting. Travis Kelce decorated his backyard with flowers, where he proposed to his ladylove. Later, the NFL star explained that he was very nervous while proposing to Taylor and he even got a little emotional. Coming to their wedding, reports claim that the couple is planning to get married in 2026; but neither Travis, nor Taylor has opened up about it.
