In a recent press statement released by Yash Raj Films, it has been revealed that 'Saiyaara' director, Mohit Suri will be back with a new romantic film starring Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda.
Before Saiyarra was released last year, in July 2025, no one could have predicted that the film would become such a hit among audiences who love romantic movies. It has become one of the biggest romantic films under the direction of Mohit Suri and produced by Akshaye Widhani, the CEO of Yash Raj Films. Now, they are set to collaborate once again in what is being reported as an 'intense romance.' Additionally, the lead pair of Saiyarra, Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda, will also be seen starring in the upcoming film.
In a recent press statement, Yash Raj Films announced the highly anticipated reunion. According to them, as of now, the film is still untitled, though it “promises a cinematic experience that blends heartfelt storytelling with unforgettable melodies.” In the statement, while talking about the film's theme and intensity, director, Mohit Suri, stated:
“It’s always been love stories for me: overwhelming — when emotions are so unbound, self-consuming and become impossible to ignore. Love is supposed to be felt intensely, and that’s why I naturally gravitate towards this as a storyteller. The film explores this unabashedly.”
YRF CEO, Akshaye Widhani, then went on to add that when it comes to working with Mohit, it is never just about making a film. Instead, he claims that it is "about chasing a feeling, a piece of music," and also about what he described as a moment that lingers long after the movie comes to an end. He further claimed that Saiyaara was one such moment or collaboration which he would cherish throughout his life. He said:
“As we come together again, we’re searching for something even more honest, more vulnerable and more enduring with our second collaboration. We are thrilled to have Ahaan and Aneet in our film.”
While coming to the Saiyaara leads, who will once again appear together in this upcoming project, Ahaan has reportedly signed a film with Ali Abbas Zafar, while Aneet is currently working on Maddock's horror-comedy, Shakti Shalini. The new movies will mark both Ahaan and Aneet's return to the romance genre after both of them amassed a massive following post Saiyaara's release last year.
While speaking about the reunion, Mohit claimed that it may have been written in the stars. He called it “reuniting, coming back home, but with a renewed creative hunger.” Apparently, this new project is making Mohit feel like a newcomer who is both excited and anxious about the story. Mohit said, “I hope my music will again touch people as I have always strived for through my films.” According to a report by Hindustan Times, the YRF film is scheduled to hit the floors later this year, in 2026. Additionally, the makers are reportedly eyeing a worldwide 2027 theatrical release.
Mohit Suri's directorial, Saiyarra, was released in 2025 and became an instant hit with both critics and audiences alike. Although the film was made on a modest budget, it achieved immense success at the box office, going on to collect a staggering Rs. 338 crore in India. When it comes to Saiyarra's worldwide income, it has reportedly grossed about Rs. 580 crore.
It is worth noting that with this, Saiyaara had set new records for an Indian romantic film. Furthermore, the movie's soundtrack maintained its spot on streaming charts for months after its release. The Saiyaara duo, Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda, became one of the favourite on-screen couples of Gen Z, with fans affectionately dubbing them ‘Ahneet.’
