One of the longest-running and the most successful shows in the history of Indian television, Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah has glued the audiences to their television screens for some years now. But a piece of heartbreaking news has shocked its entire fanbase, as it's about the show's most loved character, Dayaben, portrayed by actress, Disha Vakani. There are reports that the actress has permanently bid farewell to the show, amidst the speculations around her return in the media. Everyone is finding it hard and almost impossible to digest this news, as Disha had won many hearts through her acting and perfect comic timing. The actress portrayed the character of Dayaben for the first time back in 2008, and it was in November 2017, when Disha Vakani had temporally waved goodbye to the show for her maternity break, which got extended into a gap of 2 years.
According to a report in Koimoi.com, popular television show, Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah actress, Disha Vakani, who has portrayed the show's most loved and important character of Dayaben (Jethalal's wife), has permanently quit the show. The report has shocked the massive fanbase of TMKOC, who were anxiously waiting for Disha's return on the show. A source informed the news portal that both the makers of the show and Disha were in close contact and planning for her perfect return on the show. However, unfortunately, the ideas didn't work well and hence, Disha has decided to quit the show permanently once and for all. The source stated, "After the maternity break, there definitely had been talks regarding the perfect plot to return. Producers had been in touch with Disha, and some on-going negotiations were being worked upon. But unfortunately, things did not materialise, and Disha decided to quit."
Just when the fans of Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah thought that this is the most heartbreaking news they have received about their favourite show, the source stated another shocking revelation that the show's makers were already aware of Disha Vakani's exit from TMKOC. But they didn't make it official reportedly because of the fear of losing TRPs. The source further stated, "It has been long known to the director and producers that Disha Vakani is not returning to Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah. The reason behind them not announcing it officially remains a confusion even to many of us." For the unversed, a few weeks ago, Disha Vakani's brother, Mayur Vakani was shooting for his show, Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah and had contracted the COVID-19 virus. After experiencing some of the symptoms of the deadly virus for some time, the actor had gotten himself tested, and it had turned out that he was COVID-19 positive. The actor's wife, Himani Vakani had also tested positive. Mayur's sister, Disha's millions of fans had started praying for the well being of her bhai, Mayur and bhabhi, Himani. In an interview with ETimes TV, Mayur Vakani's wife, Himani Vakani had confirmed the news of her and Mayur's COVID positive results. The doting wife had stated that she is asymptomatic; that is why she's under home quarantine but had revealed that her husband, Mayur, is admitted to a hospital in Ahmedabad.
