Sunita Ahuja alleged that Govinda served as a sugar daddy to young, struggling actresses

During a January 2026 chat with Miss Malini, Sunita Ahuja publicly alleged that aspiring actresses frequently seek a "sugar daddy" in the film industry to fund their lifestyles, directly implicating her husband, Govinda, in these dynamics. She alleged that those newcomers have neither good looks nor talent nor resources to secure a place in the film industry. As a result, they allegedly pressure senior stars to manage their expenses, and according to Sunita, the Coolie No. 1 star has fallen prey to it. She further claimed that those young starlets eventually use pressure tactics or blackmail to exploit established actors. Sunita stated:

"Mere bache bade ho gaye...I have always said that they get disturbed. I always say that ye tumhari umar nahi hai...lekin kya hai na, aajkal ki jo ladkiyan aati hain struggle karne ke liye, they need a sugar daddy jo unka kharcha chalaye. Shakal do kaudi ki hai, heroine banna chahti hai. Phir kya karte hain, phasa lenge, blackmail karenge."

Sunita also shed light on how rumours of affairs of famous parents affect their children and disrupt the household. She mentioned that her children, daughter, Tina Ahuja (36 years old) and son, Yashvardan Ahuja (28 years old), are grown-ups now, and their lives are now more "disturbed" due to their father Govinda's controversies. Referring to sugar babies, Sunita Ahuja stated that such girls will always be ready to lure veteran stars, such as men in their 60s like Govinda, and that they should act maturely and ignore them. Sunita blamed the Kill Dil actor for not caring about his wife or kids and indulging in affairs at such an age. Slamming her husband, Sunita Ahuja mentioned:

"Aisi ladkiyan bahut aati hain, but tum thode hi bewakoof ho...You are 63! You have a nice family, a beautiful wife, and two grown-up children. You can't do all this at the age of 63. Tune jawani mein kiya... it's fine. Jawani mein hum bhi galtiyan karte hain, but not at this age."

Govinda's defence against Sunita Ahuja's infidelity allegations

In January 2026, Govinda broke his long-standing silence to defend himself against public allegations of infidelity and marital discord levelled by his wife, Sunita Ahuja. In a conversation with ANI, the Partner actor dismissed the affair rumours and claims of a marital rift as part of a "big conspiracy" orchestrated to damage his reputation and professional standing. He suggested that this plot has been active for over 15 years. The actor stated that his own family members, including his wife, Sunita, might be "unknowingly involved" in this conspiracy, created by external forces. He stated:

"What I've been observing lately is that sometimes when we don't speak, we either appear weak or it seems like we are simply the problem. So today, I'm responding. I was told that people in my family might be unknowingly involved and they won't realise they are being used in the initial stages of a big conspiracy."

Govinda claimed that Sunita was being used and pushed forward like an opening batsman without realising the larger plot. He made an emotional appeal to his family to stop discussing personal matters in the media, stating that such public statements make him feel "suffocated". He urged harmony and clarity within the household. To defend his character, the veteran stars emphasised his deep respect for the women in his household, citing his devotion to his mother and mother-in-law. He also stated that staying silent for so long had made him appear weak, which prompted his current response.
