MTV's popular dating reality show, Splitsvilla is back with a bang! Its 16th instalment, titled Splitsvilla X6: Pyaar Ya Paisa, premiered on Friday, January 9, 2026, at 7:00 p.m. (IST). This year, the show has brought fresh twists, introducing as many as 32 contestants, the highest number among all seasons so far. However, what makes the latest instalment most interesting is its two villas, Pyaar Villa and Paisa Villa, each consisting of 16 participants (eight boys and eight girls). Additionally, two mischief-makers, Uorfi Javed and Nia Sharma, are here to spice things up. Uorfi had already sparked a buzz by bringing up her past beef with contestant, Niharika Tiwari.
Splitsvilla and controversy go hand in hand. In the second episode itself, mischief-maker Uorfi dropped a curiosity bomb, claiming she and Paisa Villa contestant, Niharika Tiwari, share a history outside the show. It sparked buzz about whether something bitter or controversial went down between the two. While Uorfi hinted at unresolved drama, she refrained from providing specific details of the beef with Niharika, leaving fans and other contestants to speculate. Uorfi also playfully threatened Niharika, saying she would make things difficult for her in the villa and leave her crying. Regarding their past issue, Uorfi stated:
"We have a history, and it is not good if it comes out."
A widely circulated viral claim suggested that the tension between Uorfi and Niharika began at a private party where the latter, under the influence of alcohol, allegedly kissed Uorfi's boyfriend right in front of her. An Instagram user named Shruti Mishra (@shuruseshuruu) posted the reel explaining the alleged incident, tagging it as "Splits gossip." The post quickly went viral, racking up over 32K likes and has even reached the people concerned, i.e., Uorfi Javed and Niharika Tiwari. The reel's content was widely discussed on platforms like Reddit, and as the matter escalated, the duo broke their silence.

Both Uorfi and Niharika seemed baffled at the surfacing of the viral claims regarding the drunk kissing incident. Uorfi dismissed the claims as entirely fabricated. She commented on the video with laughing emojis and wrote, "This is not true kaha se apne mann se bana lete ho ye sab." Just an hour after her clarification, Niharika also slid into the comments of the reel, sharing her views regarding the accusation. She strongly refuted the allegations, criticising the creator for spreading rumours about someone they had never met. She also took a dig at them, saying that if spreading gossip helped the creator earn her living, she should "carry on" with it. Niharika Tiwari wrote:
"LMAO Bro...Imagine speaking so confidently about someone you've never met. Couldn't be me. But if making up stories for views pays your bills, carry on."
Besides the drunk kissing allegations, another possible explanation for Niharika and Uorfi's strained relations surfaced. A Redditor posted on a Splitsvilla gossip page that Niharika had previously made derogatory remarks about Uorfi's fashion sense on a podcast, which the latter did not like. As a retaliatory move, Uorfi allegedly claimed that Niharika wore revealing outfits, making her unworthy of commenting on others' clothing preferences. Notably, Uorfi and Niharika have not yet responded to this narrative about their rocky past.
Niharika Tiwari is an Indian television personality, model, and actress who gained prominence through popular MTV reality shows. She is currently a popular contestant on Paisa Villa in Splitsvilla X6. Niharika first came into the spotlight as a contestant of MTV Roadies Real Heroes (2019), where she got selected during the Indore auditions. Her stint in Roadies wasn't particularly memorable; however, she became a known entity among fans of Indian reality shows.
