The release date of the much-awaited action thriller film, Spirit has been revealed. The film, Spirit is said to be the most-anticipated film of Prabhas. It is also the first collaboration of him and the filmmaker, Sandeep Reddy Vanga. A while ago, the makers of the film announced the release date of it. On January 16, 2026, the makers of the much-awaited film, Spirit took to their X (formerly Twitter) handle to announce the release date of the action thriller, starring Prabhas and Triptii Dimri. The makers revealed that the film, Spirit will hit the theatres on March 5, 2027. Along with the date, the makers also penned a small note, which can be read as:
"No looking back!!! #Spirit will see the world in theatres on March 5, 2027. #OneBadHabit #Prabhas @imvangasandeep."
The upcoming action thriller film, Spirit is directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga and is produced by T-Series and Bhadrakali Pictures. The much-awaited film stars Prabhas, Triptii Dimri, Vivek Oberoi, Prakash Raj and more. For the unversed, the original female lead of the film was Deepika Padukone. However, they made headlines, when the makers shared that they have removed Deepika from the film as they want someone who is more professional.
Later, multiple reports claimed that Deepika Padukone stepped away from the film, Spirit as she demanded a hike in her fees and also wanted less working hours. Deepika dominated headlines at that time for demanding an 8-hour work shift. When the makers refused to fulfill her demands, Deepika walked out of Spirit.
For the unversed, the first look of the film, Spirit was unveiled on January 1, 2026, which instantly grabbed attention on social media. For those who missed it, the first look featured Saaho actor, Prabhas in a rugged and raw avatar. He was shirtless, with visible bruises and bandages on his body. His back was facing the camera. The female lead of the film, Triptii Dimri was also seen in the poster. She was dressed in a simple outfit and was calmly lighting Prabhas' cigarette.
The upcoming film, Spirit is expected to be a hard-hitting action drama film with strong and intense emotions. Reportedly, the film directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga is expected to be different from the usual thrillers. If reports are to be followed, Prabhas will be seen playing the role of an IPS officer. His look suggests that the film will feature intense action scenes. However, Triptii's look confirms an emotional layer. The film, most likely will explore a love angle between Prabhas and Triptii Dimri. For those who do not know, the film will be released in multiple languages.
Prabhas is one of the most versatile and loved pan-India actors. He rose to global fame with the Baahubali franchise. Over the years, he appeared in hit and iconic films like Saaho, Varsham, Yogi, Rebel, Radhe Shyam, Adipurush, Salaar, Kalki 2989 AD and more. He was last seen in the film, The Raja Saab.
