Scooter Braun and his ex-wife, Yael Cohen, continue to co-parent their three kids. However, not many know that the two had announced their divorce after two weeks of celebrating their 7th anniversary.
Scooter Braun, the famous talent manager, who often leads the headlines, was once head-over-heels in love with Yael Cohen Braun. The couple was married for seven years and is blessed with three children, Jagger, Levi and Hart. While the ex-couple continues to co-parent their children amicably, their separation leaves many wondering what went wrong between the two that took the big step.
For the unversed, Scooter and Yael tied the knot in July 2014. The couple had got engaged just six months ago, and the same year they welcomed their first child, a son named Jagger. The couple often heaped praise on each other and how they would balance their marriage and parenting responsibilities. Despite being head-over-heels in love with each other, they parted ways.
The two wanted to see a lifetime of togetherness, but they ended their marriage after two weeks of celebrating their seventh anniversary. It came as a shock, as on the occasion of their seventh anniversary, Scooter penned a heartfelt note for his then-wife, Yael. Taking to his Instagram handle, Scooter shared that Yael had given him everything, and it was because of him that he had grown in life and been pushed to be the best version of himself. He wrote:
"If just for the kids you have given me everything. But thanks to you I have grown, I have been pushed to be the best version of myself and to continue growing and learning. That all happened because you came into my life. 7 years. The adventure is just beginning. Thank you Yae. I love you."
It was the same month that Scooter Braun filed for divorce. However, their divorce was finalised more than one year later. The two had signed a prenup document, and as per the court documents, Braun got hold of several of the couple's properties and more than 100 pieces of artwork, several cars, four golf cars and an electric scooter.
The ex-couple agreed to take the legal custody of their children. On the other hand, Yael was asked to pay USD 60,000 in child support per month - USD 12,000 for their younger son, Jaggar, USD 18,000 for their elder son, Levi and USD 30,000 for their daughter, Hart. Scooter is also responsible for the kids' medical and dental insurance.
After a few years of separation, Scooter Braun talked about his divorce. He accepted that the reason their marriage fell apart was because of how they both contributed to it. Scooter stated that since he has a lot of respect, he won't go into the details of who did what. On The Diary Of A CEO, Scooter revealed that they are family and stated that it wasn't one incident which forced them to take the step, but many factors. He said:
"I don't want to go into detail, because I have a lot of respect, We're family forever. It goes both ways. It's not like there was one thing happening. Both people have to play a role in where we got to. Things happened both ways.
Scooter further revealed that it was when their marriage broke that he realised that there was no foundation, and he revealed that he wasn't happy in the marriage. He said:
"It wasn't until the foundation broke and there was nothing underneath it when I was like, 'Oh, s--t! I'm actually not happy. I wouldn't go back to that, before all the crap, in a million years. I want to stay here, because now I'm awake."
