Sanjay Gupta got married when he was young and eventually divorced his wife six years later, only to reconcile. His wife, Anuradha, once revealed why she remarried Sanjay after being apart for six years.
Sanjay Gupta was married to Anuradha Lekhi Gupta, who was crowned Mrs World International 2024. Speaking of their love story, while nothing in detail could be known, Anuradha revealed that she fell in love with Sanjay when she shifted to Mumbai to do her graduation at Sophia College. She was only 22 years old when she married Sanjay, and according to her, 'being too young and married was the worst combination of sorts.'
In an interview with YouTuber Siddharth Kannan, Anuradha said their separation wasn't Sanjay's fault alone, and they both played a part in it. Speaking about their divorce, Anuradha said that she reached to a point where she was just done.
When asked if she ever believed the buzz about her husband cheating on her during that time, as there had been rumours all around about the same. Anuradha said that she never believed what people said about Sanjay. She could be quoted as saying:
"We both had a part to play in it and I know that I had reached a point where I said I am done. I chose not to believe he was having affairs. I chose to believe Sanjay over anyone else."
Anuradha wanted to live independently after divorce; however, she and Sanjay were in touch, always. She said that her family loved Sanjay, and every six months, he would ask her to get back together, so they actually never drifted apart, even when they parted ways. She shared:
"Every year, or every six months, he would say, 'let’s get back together. We never drifted apart, we were always in touch because my family loves him."
During his divorce, Sanjay would throw 'playboy-style' parties, and he also had a falling-out with his close friend, Sanjay Dutt. Anuradha was hurt seeing the split between the two friends; however, she didn't reach out to her ex-husband then, as, according to her, he was already in a relationship with someone else.
We wish Sanjay Gupta's family strength to deal with this tough time!
