Recently, the leader of Vijay Thalapathy's political party, Ranjana Nachiyar slammed the actor for his remarks about his wife, Sangeetha.
It looks like the entire life of South Indian actor, Vijay Thalapathy has turned upside-down, ever since his wife, Sangeetha filed for a divorce. It is worth mentioning that soon after their divorce, the attention shifted to Vijay's alleged girlfriend, Trisha Krishnan. Amid that, the leader of Vijay's political party, Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam, Rajana Nachiyar has slammed the actor for his recent comments. Read on to know what she said!
Recently, the leader of TVK political party, Ranjana had a conversation with ANI, during which she spoke about Vijay’s statement, where he opened up about the ongoing issues in his life and said that they "are not worth it at all". This didn’t sit well with Ranjana, who pointed out that if a leader won’t respect women, no one will. She was quoted as saying:
"It doesn’t show that the man respects his own wife. How would we believe he would respect other women?"
Further, Ranjana explained that Vijay should not refer to any person as ‘not worth it’. Later, she spoke about Vijay and Sangeetha’s married life and explained the importance of prioritising personal relationships. Ranjana further stated that the actor should be careful with his words as the Gen-Z might follow his path. In her words:
"I don’t know how women support such nature. He should respect his own family. That is more important than becoming the leader of Tamil Nadu. He should not set a bad example for Gen-Z kids, bringing another actress for a wedding."
On February 27, 2026, Vijay Thalapthy’s wife, Sangeetha filed for a divorce. It is worth mentioning that Vijay and his wife were together for almost 27 years. In the divorce plea, Sangeetha Sornalingam claimed that Vijay has allegedly been involved in an extramarital relationship with an actress. The petition claimed that Vijay's alleged affair caused deep emotional pain and trauma to his wife. The hearing in the case is scheduled for April 20, 2026. The petition can be read as:
"The Respondent (Vijay) was involved in an adulterous relationship with an actress. This caused her deep emotional pain and mental suffering, amounting to betrayal and violation of marital trust."
Currently, Trisha Krishnan and Vijay Thalapathy are one of the most talked about couples. For the unversed, they first met during their film, Ghilli and eventually collaborated in movies like Thirupaachi, Aathi and Kuruvi. Their on-screen chemistry soon started sparking real-life romance buzz. After a long break, Trisha and Vijay paired up in Leo. For the unversed, Vijay is almost 9 years older than the actress, Trisha Krishnan.
It is worth mentioning that over the years, Vijay and Trisha made several public appearances, which fuelled dating buzz. In the past few years, Trisha has also posted for the actor on his birthday. After Sangeetha filed a divorce from Vijay, the actor and Trisha were spotted at a high-profile event in Chennai. Reportedly, they arrived in the same car, which looked like an indirect confirmation about their alleged romance. However, neither Vijay nor Trisha has opened up about the same.
