Shreya revealed that Ram Kapoor crossed personal boundaries and kissed her on her forehead and even on her cheeks, which was without her consent, and thus, she disliked it. With these claims, social media users started slamming the actor, which left Ram's wife with no option but to come forward and make a clear-cut statement. Amid this, let's look back at a time when Gautami Kapoor reacted to Ram Kapoor kissing an actress without informing her.
Ram Kapoor sparked a controversy with his kissing scene with Sakshi Tanwar in Bade Achhe Lagte Hain. He also spoke about the impact of the same on his wife, Gautami. Ram and Gautami got married in 2003, and they are parents to their two kids, Sia and Aks.
Speaking about his much-talked-about controversy surrounding his kiss with Sakshi, Ram told Nayandeep Rakshit in an interview that it was not the first time that he had to lock lips with an actress on screen. According to Ram, it was the third occurrence that bothered his wife, Gautami. Ram could be quoted as saying:
"I had kissed two other actors on camera before Sakshi Tanwar, but somehow it was the third one that bothered her."
Gautami mentioned that she was really upset with the incident. She said that the knee-jerking reaction stemmed from love and possessiveness, and it was the lack of communication that even left her more hurt, as apparently, she had told her husband not to do any kissing scenes. While he did it anyway, he didn't even inform his wife, Gautami, about the same, which left her to react. Speaking about the controversy, Gautami said:
"I was a young mother then with two children to look after. I was upset, but later it made me realize, 'What am I doing?' I am an actor myself, so why did I react like that? My knee-jerk reaction obviously came out of possessiveness, out of love, and also because I was informed only afterward. Why didn't he tell me beforehand? Because when I had seen the earlier kissing scenes, I had categorically told him, 'You will never, ever do an on-screen kiss. You can do anything else.' That was the deal we had."
Gautami Kapoor recently took to her social media handle and released a video, wherein she revealed that she initially thought that she would not comment on the controversy that is up; however, people have been targeting her husband, which made her come forward to share her side as well. Gautami, in the video, revealed that while people are putting labels on her husband, they should hold their judgments, as the episodes of the show are edited.
Gautami also mentioned that while she's not justifying her husband's actions, he is a man who entered the show without any plans and has a heart full of love. Shreya Kalra said that even her father doesn't violate the personal limits and kiss her, which Ram Kapoor did. Speaking about the same, Gautami said that the reason behind this could possibly be that her husband didn't support his co-star, Shreya, to be the gang leader.
