Well, it is now actress, Radikaa Sarathkumar who us grieving over the loss of Bharathiraja. For the actress, the filmmaker was like her guru who had helped shape her career. His demise has been personal to her as Radikaa even lost her mother in 2026.
Bharathiraja held a very special place in the life of actress Radikaa Sarathkumar. She had taken to her Instagram handle to call Bharathiraja more than just a director. He held a very important position in her life and career. The actress became vulnerable and in her post revealed that she not just lost her mom but also Bharathiraja in the same particular year. She revealed that both her mother and Bharathiraja were the two strongest pillars of her life.
Radikaa Sarathkumar, in her social media post, had shared that she is undergoing a lot of emotional pain at the moment. In her note, she mentioned that her heart also felt heavy, and she is filled with sad emotions. This is because she is trying to come to terms with the loss. The actress also thanked her fans who stood by her, supported and sent her very kind messages during this tough time. Her note read:
"I have no words to express the grief I feel at Bharathiraja’s passing. devastated Bharathiraja sir, my everything, my heart is broken. Words fail me, rest in peace."
Radikaa Sarathkumar, in the concluding note, also spoke about her memories with the legendary filmmaker. She shared the lessons, Bharathiraja had given to her in life that would always be with her. She thanked him for being a part of her life both on the professional and personal front. Radikaa Sarathkumar had given the most heart-wrenching tribute to Bharathiraja.

Bharathiraja was known to have a very close bond with ace music composer, Ilaiyaraaja and also his brother, Gangai Amaran. Bharathiraja knew them even before he started working in the movie industry. Together, Bharathiraja, along with Ilaiyaraaja and his brothers, had produced a lot of stage dramas.
