An internal source with the Patriots and an NFL insider have claimed that Mike Vrabel 'has not been the same' after his alleged affair with Dianna Russini and their kissing photos.
The New England Patriots head coach, Mike Vrabel and former The Athletic reporter, Dianna Russini, have become a subject of intense media and online scrutiny, especially among the NFL community. The situation began when Page Six released a set of photos showing the duo spending time together at a luxury resort in Sedona, Arizona. While they claimed that they were accompanied by friends, the pictures only captured Mike and Dianna engaging in PDA, from holding hands and hugging to lounging together.
Things escalated further when the outlet released new images featuring Mike and Dianna, where they can be seen kissing. The pictures have raised questions about professionalism within the league's media and coaching ranks. Now, according to recent reports, there has been a shift in Mike Vrabel's presence as the speculations surrounding his alleged affair with Dianna continue to grow.
If an internal source within the Patriots organisation is to be believed, there has been a significant change in Mike Vrabel's demeanour in the past couple of weeks. The source claimed that Mike has been less focused. Apparently, he has not been working with the same level of intensity which had once defined his coaching career. Although the New England Patriots have not taken any official disciplinary measures against Mike, those inside the building have already noticed the strain that the alleged affair rumours have placed on Mike's composure and leadership style.
NFL insider, Albert Breer, added his opinion on how Mike Vrabel is being perceived by those around him amid his alleged affair with Dianna Russini. He said that conversations with those close to the Patriots suggest that the trademark confidence most people knew Mike for, as well as his assertiveness, has diminished in the last few weeks. Albert stated:
"I can just tell you factually, he has not been the same the last two weeks in that building. The sense I've gotten talking to people is that bravado and everything else, I think this has taken a chunk out of that.”
Albert said that, personally, he likes Mike Vrabel because he has also covered him for a long time. According to him, “deep down he's a good guy with a good heart.” He claimed, “I would say it's like what you don't want is that version of Mike Vrabel walking around for the next six weeks until summer. You want to find a way to get the full Mike Vrabel back.”

All eyes have been on the New England Patriots team as the Dianna Russini and Mike Vrabel drama intensifies with each passing day. Many have been wondering what the team's next move will be regarding the head coach. There have been speculations about the Patriots firing Mike now that Page Six has released a new set of photos on April 23, 2026.
In the pictures, believed to have been taken in 2020, Mike and Dianna appear to be on a romantic date at a dimly lit bar in Manhattan, New York. The pictures show them engaged in a close conversation. However, one picture in particular that caught everyone's eye showed Mike leaning towards Dianna and seemingly kissing her. Well, despite the buzz the pictures have generated, the Patriots have not revealed any plans to fire Mike anytime soon.
According to recent reports, Mike Vrabel has had some difficult conversations not only with the Patriots organisation and his players, but also those close to him. Reportedly, those conversations were positive and productive. Mike claimed that he had no intention to harm his team and become a cause of distraction. He stated:
“Those are comments and questions that I've answered for the team, with the team, we'll keep those private and to ourselves.”
