During KJ’s bond hearing in Georgia's Fulton County on September 11, 2026, Judge Melynee Leftridge set his bond at USD 200,000 and imposed several strict conditions for KJ’s release. Amid this, NeNe Leakes opened up about Kim’s condition throughout it all.
NeNe Leakes recently appeared on the Big Tigger Morning Show, where she opened up about how her Real Housewives of Atlanta co-star, Kim Zolciak, is doing. According to NeNe, Kim is not okay as her son, KJ Biermann, faces serious sexual assault allegations. Revealing that she reached out to Kim to check on her, NeNe said, “I know that's a tough time and I know she's not okay.”
Fans of the show might be aware that NeNe and Kim were known for their feud on RHOA. At present, however, the duo appear to be on good terms and are friendly with each other. When host Francesca Amiker asked the reality TV star if she and the other ladies are still friends, NeNe said that while they might not be super close, she continues to remain on speaking terms with them. In fact, if she ever called Porsha Williams, K. Michelle, Cynthia Bailey, Kenya Moore, Marlo Hampton, Shereé Whitefield, and Kandi Burruss, they would all pick up the phone to answer.
After news broke that Kim Zolciak's son, KJ Biermann, was arrested, the reality star firmly stood by his side. She denied the allegations that KJ had assaulted a female classmate inside a gym changing area. In a statement, she said:
“The allegations being made against my son are nothing short of reckless and deeply troubling. He categorically denies ever being involved with this woman or engaging in the conduct she has alleged.”
According to Kim, her son passed a voluntary polygraph examination. She added that an examination was also conducted which showed that DNA belonging to KJ was not found on the girl. Kim claimed that she was aware of how the girl had previously made similar allegations involving two other people. She said that it raises serious concerns which must be “carefully examined.”
Calling the accusations “false,” Kim said that they could have devastating consequences for the one accused. The same would be true for “genuine survivors of sexual assault and abuse.”
During KJ Biermann's bond hearing, Deputy District Attorney Caitlin McGillicuddy made another shocking revelation made another shocking revelation about the 15-year-old that no one saw coming.
Caitlin revealed that investigators had previously found videos on the 15-year-old’s cellphone where he could be seen having sex with a family member. What made the matter worse is that the family member was reportedly under the age of 12.
According to the attorney, “multiple encounters” were found on KJ’s device. In the videos, the teen could be seen using “predatory, derogatory” language towards the victim. Caitlin said:
“This would now mark the second time he has been charged with an offense of a sexual nature of a very serious kind which involves female victims.”
In this case, which is separate from the one where he is accused by his female classmate, KJ is being charged with sexual battery of a victim under the age of 16. He was reportedly under court supervision for the charge since October 2025.
