Inside 'Supergirl' Milly Alcock's net worth. She used to wash dishes at a local Sydney restaurant and lived in her mom's attic.
Milly Alcock is all set to star in the upcoming movie, Supergirl. For those unaware, the film arrives in theatres on June 26, 2026. Not only is it one of the most anticipated films in James Gunn's DCU, but reports also suggest that it will be a darker, more hardened ‘Kara Zor-El,’ adapted from Tom King's Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow. Interestingly, before Milly, Zack Snyder had a different Supergirl planned, but DC decided to scrap her. Now, as the buzz surrounding Milly Alcock grows, many have become curious about how much the actress’s net worth is. If you are one of them, we have got you covered.
Milly Alcock is a beloved Australian actress who made her television debut in 2014 when she was only 14 years old. Nearly a decade later, Milly garnered widespread fame for her performance as a young ‘Rhaenyra Targaryen' on HBO's hit series, House of the Dragon, which was released in 2022. Following this, Milly was cast as the titular character in DC's Supergirl. Coming to Milly Alcock's network that many have been wondering about, if a report by Celebrity Net Worth is to be believed, her career earnings are estimated at a whopping USD 2 million.
Despite having a relatively high net worth, many might not be aware that Milly Alcock used to have a wildly different job in the past. The actress, who recently featured in a Variety cover story ahead of Supergirl's theatrical release, opened up about how she used to work as a dishwasher in a local Sydney restaurant. She said:
“I was stick of a thing. I was washing these dishes so proudly and so terribly, and it was an open kitchen, so everyone could see me.”
In fact, even after landing her first major role and the success of Upright, life was far from glamorous for Milly Alcock. Comparing herself to a Roald Dahl character, she revealed that she used to live in an attic at the time. She was quoted as saying:
“I sound like a Roald Dahl character. I was living in the attic in my family home because we didn't have enough rooms — it was so hot in there.”
For the uninitiated, this was the same cramped attic space where Milly would sit down for her digital auditions for the House of the Dragon series, which were held online because of COVID-19 pandemic travel restrictions. In another interview with Stellar magazine, Milly added that it was a shock when she landed the role of ‘Rhaenyra Targaryen' while still working her kitchen shifts and living out of the roof. She said:
“I never thought this would happen to me. I was washing dishes in a restaurant, living in my mum's attic. This [big break] doesn't happen to people like me, so it was incredibly quick. I froze and took a deep breath…Then I called my mum.”
Later, Milly Alcock even showed her room in the attic to social media star, Caleb Simpson during a video tour on TikTok. She took the camera up a pullout ladder through a ceiling trapdoor to reveal the cramped space, which featured string rainbow lights, piles of books, a pretty low single bed, and a bare light bulb hanging from the ceiling beam. After the room tour, Caleb could be heard saying, “This is where all of your hopes and dreams were dreamed up.” To this, Milly replied that it was indeed a bit “magical.”
