Amid this, a former TV host made a bold statement which has been grabbing the attention. As per the TV host, Dianna's recent move was a clear-cut confirmation of the gossip that is around involving her and Mike.
For the unversed, initially, the executive editor of The Athletic, where Dianna works as an insider and an NFL reporter, supported her. The executive editor, Steven Ginsberg, said that the photos of Dianna and Mike were misleading and lacked essential context. On the other hand, she was reportedly put on leave as an investigation into her was going on. It most recently happened that Dianna resigned from her position.
On the other hand, Steven Ginsberg released a statement, wherein it was revealed that several questions were raised during the investigation. As Dianna resigned, it grabbed a whole lot of attention, and it was the former TV host, Craig Carton, whose bold comment instantly started being discussed around. As per Craig Carton, with her resignation, Dianna Russini kind of confirmed that she had a relationship with Mike.
To mention, Dianna didn't make any such comment, and she just clarified that the photos were only profession-based, as it often happens that NFL reporters interview the sources outside the venue and stadiums. She also mentioned that there were several other people with them in Arizona. Well, in his podcast, Craig Carton said that he thinks Dianna just announced her relationship, and in this state, the resignation is a smart play. Craig mentioned that the resignation doesn't mark the end of her career, but, as he said, it was a confirmation. He said:
"You just announced that you were having an affair with Mike Vrabel. Resigning is actually a smart play. I do not think her career is over, but when you resign it feels like you are saying, ‘you got me'. I believe that her resignation confirms that there was a reltionship."
Dianna Russini announced that she decided to step down from her position as a reporter for The Athletic before her contract would have ended on June 30, 2026. In the letter, she mentioned that she has gotten support from her team, but the continuous scrutiny had caused so much damage that she is not willing to accept it, and she would never let it define her career, which was why she chose to step away from her position at The Athletic.
Her resignation is now being seen with a scrutinised angle from the public, with comments like Craig Carton, which is just an assumption. If the reports are to be believed, Dianna earned around USD 1.5 to USD 2 million annually from her time in The Athletic, where she started working in 2023, after her contract with ESPN was over. Dianna's net worth is reportedly USD 5 million as of April 2026.
