"I don't, I'm genuinely just barely surviving. There's no one piece of advice that will apply to anyone, except take time for yourself. Don't forget your hobbies or what you like to do for you. The mom guilt has eaten me alive. Chronic illness is all consuming and I haven't been able to show up as the mom I want to be for the last couple years. I just want to feel like myself again. Moms are truly my hero. You're doing amazing and your children are so lucky to have a mom like you."
Further, when she was asked about how she deals with her illness, Mikayla Matthews explained that the condition has stolen almost everything from her. She mentioned that for nearly two years, she didn’t look at someone's eyes and has said ‘no’ to multiple events, premieres and more just because of the condition. Later, when a concerned fan asked the influencer the name of her chronic illness, Mikayla revealed:
"CIRS chronic inflammatory response syndrome. Brought on my prolonged exposures to toxins (mold). It has ruined just everything in my body. Nerves, skin, hair, brain, gut, liver, hormones, etc."
