“Somebody walks up to her and goes, ‘That is fantastic!’ and she'll go, ‘Thank you. USD 39, T.J. Maxx.’ That's kind of her thing. She's known for it.”
Michael also revealed that Marni has supported him through thick and thin. She was there for him when he starred in the 2021 Hulu series, Dopesick, where he played the role of a doctor who is at the center of the opioid epidemic. Michael made sure to credit his girlfriend during his SAG Award acceptance speech after he won Outstanding Actor for the show and revealed that he had actually lost his nephew to drugs. He said:
“I lost my nephew to fentanyl, heroin, and fentanyl. So, that obviously made it even more special. It's one reason I did it. Some people think it's the only reason I did it. It wasn't. It was just really well written, and I would've done it anyway…I could not have gotten through Dopesick without her.”
For the most part, Michael and Marni Turner prefer to keep their relationship private. However, the actor could not help giving his girlfriend a kiss after he won an Emmy for Dopesick in front of everyone. Since they got together, Marni can often be seen accompanying Michael to several awards shows.
