Amid her revelation, the focus has also shifted to Christina’s personal life, including her husband, Martyn LeNoble. He has been a constant support for her through all her health struggles.
According to reports, Christina Applegate's husband, Martyn LeNoble, was born and raised in Holland, the Netherlands. During his time there, Martyn grew up surrounded by music. In an interview, he opened up about being really lucky that his parents had a great music collection. He said, “I grew up at a time when punk rock really came up, so my parents always had those records around.”
When Martyn was just a teenager, he played bass in a local Dutch punk rock band. He also has a talent for playing the guitar, keyboard, and the cello. Back in 1989, Martyn decided to move from Holland to Los Angeles in order to pursue a career in music. He said that he was just 20 at the time and had USD 75 in his pocket when he landed there.
After moving to LA, Martyn LeNoble played bass in several iconic bands such as The Cult, Too Free Stooges, Thelonious Monster, and Jake's Addiction. He founded the alternative rock band Porno for Pyros in 1992 along with Peter DiStefano and former Jane’s Addiction members Stephen Perkins and Perry Farrell. During the early days of the band, Martyn told Rolling Stone that he saw it as four friends working together.
According to Christina Applegate, she and Martyn LeNoble were friends for 13 years before they took their relationship to the next level. After dating for two years, the couple got engaged on Valentine's Day in February 2010. They went on to tie the knot three years later during a private ceremony in their home in LA in February 2013.
While they kept the majority of the details of their wedding away from the public, Martyn and Christina’s rings were reportedly designed by jeweler Neil Lane. Meanwhile, the actress’ dress was designed by Maria Lucia Hohan. The pair welcomed a daughter named Sadie Grace LeNoble on January 27, 2011. Christina claimed that her husband’s profession helped create a good balance in the household for Sadie. In her words:
"Because she sees her daddy with guitars playing music for her, and then she sees mommy being ridiculous at home. She's sort of an amalgamation of the two of us. But then she has her own things, too. She's very independent."
It is worth mentioning that both Christina Applegate and Martyn LeNoble were married before they got together. The Dead to Me star was previously married to actor Johnathon Schaech from 2001 to 2007. Johnathon filed for divorce in December 2005. A statement from their publicist at the time said that it was a mutual decision between both parties.
On the other hand, Martyn LeNoble said in an interview that his first wife was also a musician and was once in a Velvet Underground cover band. Martyn also has a daughter named Marlon from a previous relationship.
Since his marriage to Christina Applegate, the musician has been by her side through thick and thin. Martyn especially supported her during her health struggles. For the uninitiated, when the pair were dating, Christina was diagnosed with breast cancer. She had to undergo a double mastectomy as well as surgery to remove her ovaries and fallopian tubes. Christina said, “I don't think I would have been able to get through any of it without him.”
