According to reports, Anthony Albanese's wife, Jodie Haydon, was born in 1979 and spent her childhood years in Bankstown, Australia. As a child, Jodie grew up very close to her grandparents in Avoca. She would stop by their home between netball matches and shifts at the local fish-and-chips shop. For her schooling, Jodie attended Kincumber High School before her family moved to Sydney.
After leaving university, Jodie pursued a career in the superannuation industry. She built a solid career spanning two decades in the sector and has worked across some of the major financial institutions. However, Jodie ultimately decided to shift towards strategic leadership roles.
In 2022, Jodie was hired as a women's officer after she served as a union delegate for the NSW Public Service Association. At present, Jodie is the head of strategic partnerships at Teachers Mutual Bank.
Coming to Jodie’s relationship with Australia's PM, Anthony Albanese, the duo met at a dinner event in Melbourne in March 2020. When Anthony asked those in the room if there were any fans of the NRL team, the South Sydney Rabbitohs, Jodie responded. While Anthony introduced himself to her, as per reports, Jodie reached out to her now-husband on X (formerly Twitter) with a “hey, we're both single.”
Jodie and Anthony's first proper meeting came when they met up over beers at Young Henrys brewery in Newtown. Soon after this, the couple met up again when Anthony invited Jodie to the Woodford Folk Festival, and they realised they got on very well. Over the years, their bond deepened further, leading Anthony to propose to Jodie on Valentine's Day in 2024. The duo got married a year later, on November 29, 2025, at The Lodge in an intimate ceremony.
Australian PM, Anthony Albanese, did not shy away from any of the questions thrown at him by Australian comedian and host, Nikki Osborne on the podcast, Bush Deep. While they were playing the classic Aussie game, “shag, marry, or date,” Nikki gave Anthony three options: Kylie Minogue, Nicole Kidman, and Rhonda Burchmore.
Initially, Anthony said, “I've just got married, I'm only six months in…” However, when Nikki pushed him for an answer, he said that he would clearly choose Kylie. This prompted Nikki to clarify if he would marry, shag or date her, to which Anthony shared without hesitation, “All of the above. She's terrific.”
Social media users had mixed reactions to Anthony's answer. One user wrote, “Was he supposed to not answer?” Another wrote, “Probably could’ve humbly batted it away with a ‘they’re all a bit out of my league’ response.” A third user penned, “It's a variation of ‘fuck, marry, kill’ which so many celebrities have answered in good humour.”
One user argued, “It's not hard to say ‘I’m a married man, it wouldn't be appropriate for me to answer.’” A netizen compared it to another incident and said, “Reminds me of the Jessica Rowe incident where someone wanted ‘to bone’ her.” A comment read:
“I think it was an inappropriate question to ask and Albanese ought to have known that and refused to answer.”
