Recently, Matthew Perry's stepfather expressed his anger on the actor's assistant, Kenneth, for injecting him with ketamine.
Matthew Perry’s assistant, Kenneth Iwamasa, who was involved in injecting ketamine in the late actor, leading to his death has officially been convicted. For the unversed, he has been sentenced to prison for 41 months, which is approximately 3.5 years. It is worth noting that Matthew Perry’s family was spotted attending the court hearing. Well, now, Matthew’s stepfather, Keith Morrison has come forward and expressed his anger and frustration towards Kenneth.
Soon after Kenneth Iwamasa was sentenced for 3 years, Matthew Perry’s stepfather, Keith Morrison slammed the assistant’s actions, which ultimately ended up taking the Friends actor’s life. He shared that he is glad the case is over; however, he explained that anger is still an understatement. Matthew’s stepfather was quoted as saying:
"I’m glad it’s done, but to say I’m angry is an understatement. What happens if Matthew gets into any trouble with drugs at all? You call. Instead, he controlled him by the use of ketamine. He’s still lying in a box in the cemetery and it still makes us sad every day. His mother is truly broken."
Right before Matthew Perry’s assistant was convicted on May 27, 2026, the actor’s family, including his sisters and mother, slammed Kenneth for his shameful actions. Matthew’s mother, Suzanne Morrison explained that Kenneth's only job was to protect the Friends actor like a guardian and a companion; however, he failed at it. She shared:
"His number-one responsibility — ensure that Matthew remained what he wanted to be: drug free. And when he had killed my son, he kept a sharp eye on me."
It was in 2023 when Matthew Perry was found dead at his house in California. His demise instantly sparked an official investigation, after which it was revealed that he died due to ketamine. Weeks later, Matthew’s assistant, Kenneth, came under the storm. Eventually, he admitted to injecting the actor with ketamine till his last breath. At the court hearing, when Kenneth was sentenced, he apologised to the actor’s family and stated:
"I'm so sorry to all of you. You all know how much Matthew loved you. I'm so sorry to have done illegal acts. I will forever regret it and I will take it to my grave and be a cautionary tale and make better choices than I did. I'm horribly, horribly sorry and I offer my condolences to you."
Kenneth Iwamasa is the former personal assistant of late Hollywood actor, Matthew Perry. While there is not much available about him, reports suggest that Kenneth and Matthew knew the actor since the early 1990s and years later, in 2022, he became his full-time assistant. The next year, in 2023, Kenneth dominated headlines for allegedly being involved in Matthew's demise. Kenneth injected ketamine in Matthew even on the day of his death.
Apart from him, four more people were convicted for being involved in Matthew Perry's demise. Reportedly, the doctor, who supplied ketamine to the actor was sentenced to prison for 30 months and Erik Farming, who sourced the drug was sentenced to two years in prison. Others involved were also given strict punishments in the case of Matthew Perry’s passing. Coming to Matthew, he was best-known for playing the role of ‘Chandler’ in the much-celebrated sitcom, Friends.
