Matthew Perry's Assistant Gets Convicted For Actor's Death Due To Ketamine, 'Take It To My Grave'

Mstthew Perry's assistant, Kenneth Iwamasa has been convicted and sent to prison for 41 months for injecting ketamine in the actor before his death.

The tragic death of Friends star, Matthew Perry still remains as one of the shocking incidents of recent times. Matthew’s demise definitely ended an era for millions of fans. For the unversed, the much-loved actor passed away in 2023. Later, questions were raised on his assistant for allegedly killing him. Well now, on May 27, 2026, he was sentenced to prison for 41 months for injecting ketamine in Matthew, which ultimately took his life.

Matthew Perry’s assistant apologises to the actor’s family

On May 27, 2026, when Matthew Perry’s 60-year-old assistant named Kenneth Iwamasa was sentenced to prison for 41 months, which is more than 3 years, he took a moment and apologised to the actor's family. For the unversed, Kenneth had been repeatedly injecting the Friends actor with a drug, ketamine, which ended up taking his life. Kenneth was quoted as saying:

"I'm so sorry to all of you. I'm just so sorry to have done illegal acts that I will forever regret. I will take it to my grave. I hope I'll be a cautionary tale to someone who's in my position to make better choices. I am horribly, horribly sorry."

Matthew Perry’s sisters slams his assistant for his shameful actions

Before the court hearing, Matthew Perry’s sisters and mother slammed the actor’s assistant, Kenneth for his actions. Recently, a statement was obtained by Page Six, in which Matthew Perry’s sister, Madeline Morrison expressed her disappointment towards Kenneth. She slammed him for injecting with ketamine and also misleading the family after the actor's death. Her statement can be read as:

"He had injected my brother with a lethal dose of ketamine and left him in a hot tub to die. It is difficult to put into words the sense of betrayal I felt when I found out what Kenny had done. Everything I believed about the day he died — everything Kenny told us — was a lie. The idea that someone my brother considered family could betray him in such an unimaginable way is something I never could have conceived."

Further, Matthew Perry’s other sister and mother also slammed the actor’s assistant. Matthew’s mother stated that Kenneth had only one job, which was to protect the Friends actor like a guardian. He had the responsibility to take care of the legendary actor amid his addiction. However, he chose to kill him.

Talking about the actor, he had been a part of multiple projects like Mr. Sunshine, Go On, The Odd Couple, The Kennedys: After Camelot and more. However, it was in 2023, when he was found dead in the hot tub of his California house.

Soon after his death, it was revealed that the cause of the same was the side effects of ketamine. Eventually, five people were accused. Reportedly, the doctor, who supplied ketamine to the actor was sentenced to prison for 30 months and Erik Farming, who sourced the drug was sentenced to two years in prison. Others involved were also given strict punishments in the case of Matthew Perry’s passing.
