Compared to Mathilde Favier, Nicolas Altmayer pursued a career in a different field. He was a French film producer whose work spanned both commercial and independent cinema. He was associated with Mandarin & Compagnie and multiple other projects.
Born on January 26, 1965, Nicolas even acted in a TV show titled Valide. He also appeared in two films, Brice 3 and XY, drole de conception, released in 2016 and 1996, respectively. He was a writer of the 2012 film, On the Other Side of the Tracks. Furthermore, Nicolas had a long list of titles to his credit as a producer.
His journey as a producer dates back to the ‘90s, when he gained recognition for La voie est libre, The Misadventures of Margaret, Le sourire du clown, and more. He additionally became popular as a producer of other projects, including In Gold We Trust, Neon Flesh, The Conquest, Young & Beautiful, Maestro, The New Girlfriend, The Innocents, Step by Step, Sahara, Jalouse, Venice Calling, and more.
As of this writing, it remains unknown how and when Nicolas first met Mathilde Favier. However, the latest reports claim that they knew each other for a long time and gained recognition after entering a PACS agreement at the beginning of 2025.
Although Mathilde Favier has been in a relationship with Nicolas Altmayer for a long time, she had tied the knot twice in the past. She was first married to financier Robert Agostinelli. The duo tied the knot in 1997 and divorced in 2009. A few reports claimed that they exchanged vows at the palazzo of Count Giovanni Volpi on the Giudecca.
Mathilde then tied the knot with Antoine Philippe Meyer. While the date of their marriage remains unknown, the former couple separated in 2013. They reportedly got married shortly after Mathilde’s divorce from Robert. Mathilde had two children from her marriage to Robert, including Heloise and Carlo.
Mathilde Favier and Nicolas Altmayer lost their lives in a car accident on August 17, 2026. Le Monde reported, citing Niort deputy prosecutor Nicolas Leclainche, that their car moved to overtake another vehicle and struck an oncoming truck. Variety also reported that an investigation for involuntary manslaughter had been opened. The heartbreaking news was revealed by Dior through Instagram on August 18, 2026, and it reads:
“Dior is deeply saddened to announce the accidental death of Mathilde Favier. In her role as Director of Public Relations, Mathilde Favier made an incredible contribution to the reputation of Christian Dior Couture through her commitment and elegance. She was an exceptional woman whose communicative joy, talent and loyalty were exemplary.”
