Add BollywoodShaadis on GoogleIt was last week when reports about a man being killed by a tiger at Yorkshire Wildlife Park grabbed significant attention. The man was later identified as William Chapman. Onlookers revealed how William 'nonchalantly' leapt into the enclosure of the Siberian Tiger, Altai, and started bowing down to him with his arms wide open. Claims were that, as it seemed, William lost touch with reality when he asked the Tiger to kill him.
When the Tiger started attacking William, he started screaming and fighting back. Even though emergency services were provided, the injuries were so severe that he couldn't be saved and died on the spot. Now, some new details have emerged about William and according to the recent report, he wanted to make it big in the entertainment world.
Speaking to the Daily Mail, William's teacher recently revealed that he was a very vibrant and talented boy who eventually wanted to become a household name. By age 10, William was already working on ITV and BBC productions. According to the teacher, the family remains devastated by the sudden passing of William, 24, who was suffering from a mental health crisis, which his family confirmed earlier this week. The teacher said:
"They are a lovely family, and they are devastated. They were always very, very nice and never pushy at all. Anything their children needed, they had it. If he needed to be taken somewhere, he would be taken somewhere. They were just really lovely people and honourable people. That's what is so sad. It is so hard."
The Daily Mail recently reported that William Chapman developed schizophrenia and suffered from bouts of psychosis, and was receiving mental health services in Doncaster, where he lived. The same report also claimed that the 24-year-old was working as a self-employed online trader. He was also an avid gamer, as reported.
Reportedly, William was a big fan of games like The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, which is a fantasy game where players can be seen armed with crossbows and axes, killing monsters and wild predators, such as large sabre cats. So, now the question emerges: whether the thin line between reality and the fantasy world became too blurry for William to jump into Altai's (Tiger) enclosure.
The same report also recently revealed that by the age of 15, William reportedly developed OCD (obsessive-compulsive disorder), and according to a blog by his mom from 2017, her son completely stopped doing his extracurricular activities and became 'unrecognisable' to her during that time, as well. However, he seemed to have been doing better in the following years.
According to the Daily Mail, his mom revealed in the old blog that she didn't want her son to be stuck in his gaming obsession. With these new details emerging, the question is whether William, who, according to onlookers, seemed detached from reality, blended fantasy with the real world. His mom, in one of the blogs, wrote:
"It must have been hard, he had all that testosterone circulating round his still relatively childlike body and it made him angsty, aggressive and confused. At this time his OCD became a real problem and he stopped going to his extra-curricular dance and drama. I was worried. I didn't want him to get stuck into a gaming obsession."
One of his neighbors recently spoke to the Daily Mail and revealed that William Chapman was a lovely man; however, when it came to his communication, according to the man from his block, he struggled to open up in the presence of more than two people.
In the last six months, William became approachable and friendly, his neighbour said, adding that only a week before William passed away, they crossed paths and the aspiring late actor didn't seem like his usual self. The neighbor said:
"For the past six months or so, he became very approachable and friendly. I usually saw him on a daily basis and I probably saw him about a week before he died. He did not seem his regular self when I last saw him."
