The 13-year-old often hits headlines for one reason or another. Be it her blue hair, face tattoos, or music career, North West is already a well-known face. However, in her recent revelation, she said that she is doing something 'regular' rather than extraordinary.
For those who don't know, North West has been working with music for a while now. North was first featured on Kanye West's 2024 song Talking / Once Again, which reached the Billboard Hot 100. In 2024, she announced her first album, Elementary School Dropout. In 2026, North West released her debut EP N0rth4evr and performed live.
Recently, speaking to Dazed, North West revealed that she wants to get a 'regular job'. According to North, she will turn 14 next year and will possibly get a job at Starbucks. North could be quoted as saying:
"No, it’s not. What would I be? I still wanna work. I wanna work at, like, Starbucks next year. I think I can next year ’cause I’m gonna be 14, so… I think I can. I want to have a regular job, I guess.”
In the same interview, North West further discussed her brand-new music career and revealed that she has always been more than ready before performing live. Beginning her career so soon is something North West is in no mood to apologise for. North, who reveals that she doesn't like to rest, shared what advice from people she felt was the worst.
According to North, people told her to wait before pursuing her career, and that was the worst advice she got. However, North soon found her true calling: it was her hobby, something she actually wanted to do. She was also asked about the conversation around her piercing and blue hair. To this, North West had only one thing to counter. She stated that boys are loved even when they do all kinds of stuff like vaping, whereas she only wants blue hair and a piercing, and, well, a Starbucks job. North, speaking about the same, stated:
"Everyone’s in love with boys, vaping and doing all kinds of bad stuff. All I want is blue hair and piercings.”
For those who don't know, earlier this year, sources revealed to PEOPLE that the SKIMS founder, Kim, wanted her daughter to complete her studies through homeschooling, and the decision came from the fact that the beauty mogul wanted her daughter to be provided with a more flexible environment to focus on her creative hobbies.
Thus, Kim felt that homeschooling would allow North to focus on academics while giving her room to explore fashion, music, and entrepreneurship more hands-on. For those who don't know, Kanye, as per the divorce settlement, pays USD 200K for child support, while he and Kim split costs 50/50 for the kids' private security and private school tuition. Speaking of the massive school fee, if the reports are to be believed, Kim and Kanye were paying USD 28-30K per year at North's preschool back in 2017. The current educational cost of North, which is home-based, isn't known at this moment.
