For the unversed, their relationship first made headlines in 2025, especially because the duo shares a significant age gap. Over time, many have also cast doubt on Alexis’ intentions for being with Kash and even went as far as to accuse her of cheating on him.
Kash Patel's now-fiancée, Alexis Wilkins, found herself in the middle of a romance scandal following the high-profile White House Correspondents’ Dinner (WHCD) in April 2026. As many might already be aware, chaos broke out at the event following a scare when gunshots were fired near the main security screening area.
A report by The New York Times at the time claimed that Alexis “was hiding in a room with another man who was holding her hand.” Soon, Kash Patel came tearing across the hallway with two men in tow to help with the rescue process.
While there was no verified evidence of Alexis having a romantic interaction with the unnamed man, let alone her cheating on Kash, just the fact that she held another man’s hand and hid in a room with him got people talking. They questioned whether she betrayed her then-boyfriend and came up with their own theories.
As the cheating rumors continued to grow, Alexis Wilkins was forced to address the matter head-on. She called the New York Times report “sick” and accused the media of pushing a narrative that was both damaging and inaccurate. Sitting for an interview with the Daily Mail, she also said that the NYT’s reporting was “salacious” and pointed out their “weird refusal to fully admit they were wrong.” Alexis explained:
“I was only ever holding Kash’s hand; anything to suggest otherwise is false. It is sick for the New York Times to have used this time after a perceived active shooting as a political tool. They will stop at nothing to push a narrative out that’s damaging to people they’ve determined they dislike.”
Alexis claimed that they knew exactly what they were implying when they said she was holding someone else's hand in another room. She reiterated that she “never held anyone's hand” and that she and Kash Patel were not in different holding rooms. In her words:
“You say someone's holding someone's hand in another room, you know exactly what you're implying. They have the wherewithal to know that…The thing that's really interesting about all of this is that never happened at all. I was never in a different holding room outside of the holding room that I was in with Kash. I was sitting there with the acting attorney general and his wife, Kristine, and never held anyone's hand.”
