Kanye West's former staff member Tony Saxon, became famous for his long legal fight with the rapper. He is now known as Ye, and Tony's fight was related to the rapper's ex-Malibu mansion. He had worked on the property when Kanye was renovating his controversial project back in 2021.

Kanye West's former employee, Tony, had many responsibilities. It was not just related to the construction work, but Tony had also worked as a caretaker. He was also a security guard at the luxurious oceanfront house. Saxon's name again emerged in 2026 when the legal dispute reached a Los Angeles courtroom.

In 2023, Tony Saxon filed a lawsuit and demanded USD 1 million from Kanye West. Tony stated that he was hired in September 2021 to monitor and oversee renovation work at the Malibu home. Tony claimed that he was wrongfully terminated after exactly two months.

Kanye West reportedly purchased the house for USD 57 million, and Japanese architect Tadao Ando designed it. Saxon filed a complaint, alleging that Ye hired him as a project manager. His role was to be a live-in caretaker and also full-time security.

The ex-Kanye West staffer claimed that he had to put in 16-hour labor, including demolition and construction, as well as coordinating with workers, hiring contractors, and 24/7 looking after the property.

The former Ye staffer shared that he agreed to be paid USD 20,000 per week. However, a report by ABC News.com stated that he received only one payment and did not receive more than USD 1 million. When Saxon worked for Ye, he claimed that he was not paid for everything and had to work in dangerous conditions.

Saxon shared that it was difficult for him to work in Kanye's home as he had to sleep on the floor as the property was being renovated. His lawsuit claimed, "makeshift conditions, finding empty spaces on the ground and using his coat as a makeshift bedding."

Saxon also stated that his job was terminated when he objected to what he believed were dangerous working conditions. West was accused of discrimination, unpaid wages, and violations of California's labor laws. Kanye had earlier shared that he had no idea that Saxon stayed there and said:

"There's no shower, no toilet. I didn't know it was possible for someone to live in a house like that with no toilet or shower."

The case then went to trial in Los Angeles back in February 2026. Long-standing attention was given to the dispute. Saxon had first asked for USD 1.7 million, and the jury then awarded him USD 140,000. This was for his medical expenses and the wages he had lost due to his injury.

The jury had also rejected many of his other claims, and West was told to cover Saxon's legal expenses. Kanye's wife, Bianca, had also acted clueless regarding the matter. Saxon's lawyer had shown the court her texts that showed him living on the property. Saxon had told Bianca that he could not stay there to which she said:

"I didn't know what was fully going on. I thought he was just venting to me."

Bianca had also shared that she did not know he had been fired until Saxon told her over the phone. It was nothing unusual for her as back at that time there were a lot of people at home. The verdict just announced showed only a portion of the compensation the former staff received. However, Saxon's attorney stated that the decision was a complete victory, as West was found guilty in the case.
