The finale of the 22-episode show wrapped up on May 24, 2026, with the production for Season 4 officially underway. It is worth mentioning that while all the previous installments were filmed in and around Canada, Tracker Season 4 is making series history with its move to Los Angeles.
So as fans eagerly wait to see Justin Hartley back in action as ‘Colter Shaw,’ here's a look at one of the major talking points in his personal life: his divorce from his ex-wife, Chrishell Stause.
It was Justin Hartley who officially filed for divorce from Chrishell Stause back in November 2019, just two years after they tied the knot. At the time, he cited “irreconcilable differences” and shared that they had separated on July 8, 2019.
The couple got married in October 2017, after four years of dating, of which they were engaged for two years. For those who don't know, this was Justin’s second marriage; he was previously married to Lindsey Hartley from 2004 to 2012.
As per reports, Justin filing for divorce was a total shock for Chrishell. Even though they were struggling in their marriage, it was not to the point that anyone thought they would get divorced. A source close to the couple revealed to Us Weekly:
“Justin had been having problems with the marriage for a while. The divorce filing was a big surprise to everyone around Justin and Chrishell in terms of their friends.”
Chrishell herself opened up about how shocked she was during Selling Sunset Season 3. She admitted that she still loved him and that Justin was her best friend. In her words, "I’m just kind of in shock with it all. It’s just a lot all at once because everybody in the whole world knows. I love him so much. This was my best friend. Who do I talk to now?”
Later, an insider speculated that the pair may have separated due to their incongruent outlook when it came to settling down. While Chrishell was ready to become a wife and mother, the actor was more focused on his career.
According to Christine Quinn, she believed that Justin and Chrishell were having communication issues for quite some time before they announced their divorce. She said that she heard they were in therapy, “so obviously there were some issues going on with them.”
However, Chrishell took to her X (formerly Twitter) handle to urge fans not to believe her Selling Sunset co-star, as she stated that those were either a complete lie or total conjecture on her part.
During episode 6 of Selling Sunset Season 3, Chrishell shared with her co-star Mary Fitzgerald that she came to know about their split when Justin informed her over text. She said, “I found out because he texted me that we were filed. Fifty-five minutes later, the world knew.”
Feeling heartbroken, Chrishell claimed that if that was really what Justin wanted, there were better ways to go about it. The reality TV star further explained that she felt like she barely had any say in that matter. Justin also did not give her a chance to figure things out before he went and filed for divorce. Chrishell said:
"When I think of marriage, I think of, you know, you work on things with people if they're not perfect—no one is- you work on it…Sometimes it can be hard, I mean I don't think it should more hard than easy at all, but that's why I'm so confused... I didn't feel like that balance was off."
