Jason stated that he discovered gardening during COVID and wants to grow food for thousands before eventually returning to acting. Amid all this, Dohring’s personal life has come into the spotlight. Jason Dohring and Lauren Kutner tied the knot in 2004 and later welcomed four children. In 2010, the duo had their first child, Owen Riley Dohring. This was followed by Lilly Dohring and Ainsley Mae Dohring in 2012 and 2016. The pair’s youngest child, Isla Avery Dohring, was born in 2018.
The couple’s love story dates back to the time when they were in high school. They shared a close friendship and later started dating. Jason once addressed his relationship with Lauren in an interview, saying that it felt great to have a “good friend to talk to.” He said that a long-lasting relationship is possible when there is someone who lets a person be themselves.
Although a lot of details about Lauren’s career remain a mystery, she is a painter. Jason has preferred to keep his family away from the limelight. However, the family came into the headlines in 2019 when a report revealed that Jason's daughters are attracted to the 2013 film Frozen, which featured the actor’s close friend, Kristen Bell.
For the unversed, Bell voiced the character 'Princess Anna,' in Frozen. Back in 2015, Jason Dohring also revealed that one of his daughters selected to wear 'Princess Anna’s' outfit on the occasion of Halloween. While speaking to Paste Magazine in an interview, Jason jokingly said:
“My daughter sings all the Frozen songs and has no idea what the words mean but she’s word for word. It’s just amazing.”
Jason Dohring has traded Hollywood for farm life in recent years, pursuing a healthier lifestyle for himself and his family. Appearing in an episode of Don't Do Nothing on August 26, 2026, he said that his move to Florida began during COVID about three and a half to four years ago when he discovered his love for gardening. He became so absorbed in his backyard that he barely gave attention to the pandemic.
Jason is now on his third farm, growing nutritious food for people. As per Jason, he became convinced that modern food is contributing to illness, and farming has shown him how such things can be changed. That curiosity pushed him to pause acting. Dohring said he told his representatives he wanted to focus on farming for now. Notably, his representatives have said that they would keep sending offers, and Jason has agreed to the same, noting that he will probably act again later.
Jason Dohring also recalled his time on Veronica Mars, saying he was proud of the show and its cast of young actors who all went on to impress. He credited the casting team for finding exceptional talent, mentioning Jessica Chastain, Armie Hammer and Kristen Bell who came through the series. He also recalled guest stars including Amanda Seyfried and Paris Hilton, who briefly played his girlfriend during her peak, calling the whole experience unbelievable and describing Hilton as highly intelligent.
