"Lindsay was dating Heath when he died. I don’t know if you know that,but I know ”cause I would drop her off and they were friends very, very close, ok? When she’s drunk or takes an Adderall with it she will do something like Heath Ledger did in a second without thinking. His death f***ed her up,? the Sun quoted her as saying on the phone."
In a 2008 conversation, Dina attributed Lindsay's issues to Heath's death. She feared that her daughter may also lead the same path because of her drinking and dr** addictions. Lindsay, according to a report by the Daily Mail, had mentioned the date on which Heath died and that he was the love of her life. Lindsay's heart-wrenching note read:

Michelle once spoke fondly of her ex-love, Heath, in an interview with Vogue. She reflected on how her daughter, Matilda, always kept the memory of the actor alive. Michelle looks at her daughter, Matilda, every time she misses Heath, as he is gone. Speaking of grief and single parenting, Michelle said:
"I can talk about grief, because that’s mine, about single parenting, about trying to balance work and kids. But what I don’t have to talk about is what happened between Heath and me in our relationship. Brokeback Mountain was an unrepeatable moment in time, a very charmed time in my life. I was in love.
