Emergency personnel responded to a 911 call from the location, and Hayden was pronounced dead at the scene.
Regarding the cause of death, while the final report awaits, it was reported that the responders were called regarding a possible cardiac arrest. If the reports are to be believed, the dispatch audio also featured some discussion about an alleged overdose. To mention, it was confirmed by the authorities that there was no sign of physical trauma or foul play.
Following Hayden's death, her on-again, off-again boyfriend, Brian Hickerson, has been grabbing attention. The duo had a tumultuous relationship that included legal issues, domestic violence, as well as his arrest. At the time Hayden passed away, she was with Brian and his brother, Zach, and this prompted a conversation about his involvement since then. Brian has a long history of drug-related arrests and public altercations. It was on September 13, 2026, when Brian and his brother, Zach, got involved in a fight in a South Carolina bar.
Following the altercation, both Brian and Zach were handcuffed after Greenville PD officers responded to reports of an 'assault'. Brian was not arrested and was released, while Zach was arrested for disorderly conduct. He was released after a few hours, and he also reacted to the entire incident. Speaking to TMZ, Zach stated that it's just frustrating how rumours start, and people believe them and go on to attack them.
According to Zach, with the information that is shared online, even unverified, people 'fill in their own cups' with it and attack others, based on their assumptions. He didn't detail much about the incident and avoided answering when asked how Brian was doing following the arrest. To quote Zach:
"It's just super frustrating all that we've been through and all the rumors that get started and then people believe them and then they attack as a result of the rumors... that's what pi**es me off."
Witnesses revealed to TMZ that Brian and Zach were at Wild Wing Cafe; however, at one point, they were seen being heckled over Hayden's death. The confrontation further turned physical, and in a glimpse shared by the publication, Brian was seen throwing a bar stool during the same. Following that, Brian and Zach were carried out of the bar, and when the police arrived, they were having an argument outside with others.
Zach and Brian were handcuffed, with the former being heavily intoxicated and launching into a profanity-filled tirade. Brian was released later; however, reports claimed that he was seen yelling at the police and talked about them leaking information about Hayden's death.
Zach earlier described the day Hayden passed away in a statement. He shared that he was invited by Brian to lunch and an indoor game on that day, however, when he arrived, his brother and Hayden were napping. After a while, when he and Brian tried to wake the actress up, they realised that she was unresponsive. Following several attempts to bring her back to consciousness, they failed and called the emergency responders, who declared the actress dead after arriving there.
