The actress recently attended Create & Cultivate’s On Her Own Terms: Halle Berry on Menopause, Aging & Women’s Health event in Los Angeles.
At the recent event, Halle Berry talked about her 'new face'. When she was asked what she's embracing the most with her age. The actress said that it's her new face and body. With age, changes in appearance are inevitable, and according to Halle, she's really proud that she is accepting the same without opting for anything else to stop or change them. Halle could be quoted as saying:
"My new face and body. It is changing. I look in the mirror every day and I see, ‘Oh God, there’s one thing that wasn’t there last week,’ but what I’m proud of is that I can learn to accept that and not turn myself into a monster with all kinds of things we could do today.”
Even though gossip on social media has always been up about Halle's changed appearance or so, in an interview with OK! Magazine back in 2009, the actress straightaway mentioned that she's not someone who would opt for plastic surgery. Her philosophy is to take care of what she has, and she said she's really serious about her skincare.
The actress didn't even hold back from sharing her two cents about those who opt for plastic surgery. According to a report by Standard.co.UK, Halle said that the idea is just 'insane'. She revealed feeling this to be a 'slippery slope', while adding that she feels 'sad' looking at the women who 'mutilate their faces today in search of looking young '. The actress said:
"I do think we've become obsessed with beauty and the fountain of youth and, frankly, personally I'm really saddened by the way women mutilate their faces today in search of that. I see women in their thirties getting plastic surgery, pulling this up and tucking that back. It's like a slippery slope - once you start you pull one thing one way and then you think, 'Oh my God, I've got to do the other side'. There is this plastic, copycat look evolving and that's frightening to me. It's really insane and I feel sad that's what society is doing to women."
Just like every other actress, Halle Berry also faced several rumors about plastic surgery. However, time and again, she has denied going under the knife, even though there have been several theories out there about her changed looks.
11 years ago, in an interview with Yahoo!, Halle revealed that she resisted going under the knife, even when she was constantly being pressured by others to opt for surgery. According to the actress, everyone around her was doing it, and it often made her wonder whether she should also opt for it to stay in the show business.
In the same interview with Yahoo!, Halle shared that it often crossed her mind, and the reason behind it was that she was constantly being asked by people to get a lift-up or to do a little bit of this or that to achieve a particular look. However, even though the thought crossed her mind for a while about getting cosmetic work done on her face, she didn't do it.
