NASCAR fame, Greg Biffle, 55 was travelling with his wife and two kids with three others when their plane tragically crashed at the runway.
The NASCAR world and sports community have received yet another shock after a devastating plane crash killed legendary driver, Greg Biffle, 55, his wife, Cristina Grossu, their kids, Emma and Ryder, with three others. The plan crashed in Statesville, North Carolina, on December 18, 2025. A joint statement was released by the families of those who lost their lives via Fox Sports, confirming the tragic news, and they called the tragedy "heartbreaking beyond words." Meanwhile, as the NASCAR community extends tributes to Gerg's family, here's everything to know about his wife and family
Greg Biffle tied the knot for the second time with Cristina Grossu on December 31, 2022, after his split from his first wife, Nicole Lunders. The couple lived an active family life and frequently traveled to travel for supporting Gerg's work in motorsports and philanthropy. Especially, Cristina was admired for her ambition, dedication, and private nature.
According to her Instagram bio, Cristina was a realtor, entrepreneur, and luxury travel agent. She reportedly served as the CEO of a ring replica company. Cristina had earned a bachelor's degree in sociology from USC and later pursued an MBA from Purdue University, something she proudly celebrated on her social media platform. She credited the qualification was a result of her dedication, late nights, and determination. At the same time, she was a devoted mother to Greg's kids.
Greg Biffle and Cristina welcomed one son, Ryder, together on September 9, 2029. In the family's joint statement, he was described as an energetic, curious and joyful boy. At the same time, Greg was a father to his 14-year-old daughter, Emma, from his previous marriage to his first wife, Nicole Lunders. Emma used to live with Greg and Cristina. She was constantly seen with the couple and her brother at racing events and family milestones. In the statement, she was described as "a wonderful human being with a kind soul."
Before his marriage to Cristina, Greg was married to Nicole Lunders. But the couple ended their marriage after a highly publicised legal battle. Nicole alleged that Greg secretly filmed her and her mother with secret cameras, which was ruled as an invasion of privacy by the Jury. He also paid her USD 250,001 in damages. But despite the controversy, Greg remained an active part of his daughter's life, and their blended family had become stable over time. According to a family friend of the couple, YouTuber, Garrett Mitchell (Cleetus McFarland) revealed that the family was flying to Florida to spend the afternoon with him.
Greg Biffle, a.k.a. The Biff, was one of NASCAR's greatest competitors. He began his racing career in 1995 and went on to win Championships in both the Truck Series in 2000 and the Xfinity Series in 2002. Greg even earned 19 Cup Series wins. Overall, he was named among NASCAR's 75 Greatest Drivers in 2023. Apart from his on-screen achievements, his humanitarian work also earned him the 2024 NMPA Myers Brothers Award. According to the Associated Press, the Cessna C550 business jet, registered to Biffle's aviation company, had taken off from Statesville Regional Airport. When it attempted to return in foggy weather, it suddenly crashed into flames near the runway. Meanwhile, the investigation to determine the exact cause of the plane crash is underway
We send our heartfelt condolences to all those who lost their lives in the tragic plane crash.
