Esha Deol went and watched her big brother, Sunny Deol's latest movie, 'Border 2'. The actress gave her honest feedback on the same.
Sunny Deol, along with Varun Dhawan, Ahan Shetty, Diljit Dosanjh, Mona Singh, Sonam Bajwa, Anya Singh, and Medha Rana, has created waves with Border 2. The movie is a standalone sequel to J.P Dutta's 1997 war movie titled, Border. Sunny was in the lead role, and Border was one of the most iconic, classic patriotic movies of that time. However, it was Sunny's stepsister, Esha Deol, who lauded the performance of Sunny and also remembered her late dad, Dharmendra. This is because he was posthumously honoured with the Padma Vibhushan.
Esha Deol, a while back on January 26, 2026, on the occasion of Republic Day, celebrated an important milestone. Firstly, Esha expressed her joy over her late dad, Dharmendra, being awarded the Padma Vibhushan. Esha then praised big brother, Sunny's performance in Border 2, whose screening she attended with her sister, Ahana. Fans were happy to see both of them pose with Sunny, and it was a perfect siblings' reunion. Esha also posed with the poster of Border 2 that had Sunny, and in the caption mentioned:
"Happy Republic Day. Really happy that our papa is being conferred with the prestigious Padma Vibhushan Award and Border 2 one parivar aur doston ke saath zarur dekhiye. We watched the film last night @iamsunnydeol you are the best. Shout out to @ahan.shetty @varundvn @diljitdosanjh @nidhiduttaofficial fantastic. Salute.”
Sunny Deol's brother, Bobby, also dropped an array of heart emojis on Esha's post. The rest of the Deol fans dropped heart emojis on Esha's lovely post. It was a special evening for the family as Dharmendra had received India’s second-highest civilian honour, the Padma Vibhushan. This was because of Bollywood's 'He-Man's contribution to the Hindi cinema.
It was in November 2025 that Bollywood's legendary actor, Dharmendra, passed away. His family had kept two separate prayer meetings. One was hosted by Dharam's sons, Sunny and Bobby, from his first marriage to Prakash Kaur. The second prayer meeting was organised by Dharmendra's second wife, Hema Malini, which was attended by his daughters, Esha Deol and Ahana Deol. There were a lot of rumours doing the rounds that things were not fine between the Deol siblings. Hema Malini had earlier dismissed all the rumours related to discord in her recent interviews. Now, Esha, by writing an appreciation post for Border 2 and speaking of Dharmendra being honoured with the Padma Vibhushan, has put all the rumours to rest.
Esha's mom, Hema Malini, once, in an interview with the Indian Express, mentioned that it has always been very nice and cordial in the family. She revealed of not knowing why people think something is wrong with them. It is because they want to gossip, and Hema revealed that she had nothing more to say about the same. In her words:
"I don't know what stories people are making up. So sad that people use others' grief to write a few articles. That is why I don't answer (such speculation). Why should I answer them? Is it necessary for me to give an explanation? Why should I? It's my life. My personal life, our personal life. We are absolutely happy and very close to each other. That's it."
