Eminem and Kim Scott were 15 and 13 years old, respectively, when they first met at a youth home in 1988. Notably, Kim witnessed him rapping for the first time. Kim shifted to Eminem's house shortly, and the duo started living together in the same year. The rapper’s mother, Debbie Nelson, once claimed in her memoir that Kim did not communicate a lot.
While the relationship allegedly started in 1988, Debbie initially opposed it after she discovered that Kim was only 13. However, the romance continued between the duo, and they tied the knot in 1999. Amid this, the couple struggled with a few things, including poverty, after Debbie told them to leave the house, and Eminem dropped out of high school. A few years before they got married, Debbie and Eminem had a daughter named Hailie in 1995.
The former couple later moved back to live with Eminem’s mother, who was reportedly dealing with drug abuse, a claim that was dismissed by Debbie. The duo eventually moved out of the place, with Kim going to live with her parents and also taking Hailie with her. On the other hand, Eminem started living with his friends.
Shortly after they exchanged vows in 1999, Kim and Eminem’s marriage started facing problems. Eminem’s tour started shortly after the marriage, and it reportedly impacted his relationship with Kim. Apart from that, Eminem once witnessed Kim kissing a man named John Guerra. Eminem later attacked the man, and he was sentenced to two years of probation. Kim later denied that she cheated on her husband.
The situation took a different turn during a concert in 2001 when Eminem hit a doll that looked like Kim, who eventually tried to take her own life. While Eminem started seeking a divorce after the suicide attempt, Kim filed a lawsuit against him, accusing him of causing emotional distress. Although the case was settled and the pair continued living together, they separated in 2001 after Kim requested for divorce.
During the first divorce, Eminem and Kim agreed on the joint custody of their child. Despite the split, the duo was in touch for a long time, and they tied the knot again in 2006. However, they divorced the same year.
Multiple photos and videos were acquired by TMZ on July 14, 2026 (ET), from the day when Kim Scott was taken to the hospital. It featured first responders bringing Kim out of her residence in Chesterfield and putting her inside an ambulance.
A report by the Chesterfield Fire/EMS stated that they received a call at 8 p.m. about an “Unconscious/Fainting” person. Kim was transported to the McLaren Macomb Hospital, and her current condition remains unknown. Notably, the report obtained by TMZ mentioned the incident as Hemorrhage/Laceration.
